The initial order for this safe arrived with a problem that has been reported previously that it woudl not open. Called tech support who recommended that I apply a heavy weight to the top of the safe to loosen the waterproof seal. I did this an was able to open the safe. To test it, I closed it again and was unable to open the safe. I returned the safe and ordered another one. This one had no problems opening. (important: When you put in the code and the lock mechanism opens, pull up on the far right of the open mechanism to open. Not an obvious to do). This is a nice safe that looks like it will do what it is designed for. I haven't had a fire or flood to test it, but I feel confident about it. Another reviewer complained that it is easy to break into.... it is. It is also easy to carry away. I have too many keys to keep track of as it is, so I ordered this safe with the electronic keyboard rather than a keyed lock. From the moment it arrived, it was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO OPEN. I thought about returning it, but hoped it'd get easier to open over time. IT DID NOT. Then three weeks ago I was unable to open it at all. I called their customer service phone number during the hours they state they're open - NO ONE ANSWERED, and I wasn't even given an opportunity to leave a message for a callback. I didn't want to take it to a locksmith to have it drilled open, as my husband told me it'd probably cost me $400-$500 to have it done. I was so frustrated I wanted to just throw it away but I couldn't, as I had stored important irreplaceable papers in it. I finally thought to go out on Just Answer for $40 and spoke with a locksmith who gave me some ideas to try. After about a hundred tries (I kid you not), I finally was able to get the thing open. I got my papers out of there and I'm going to shut it and throw it in the trash. I thought about taking it to Goodwill, but I'd worry about whoever bought it not being able to get it open. So, trash it is. Maybe I got a lemon, but I wouldn't risk it if I were you. Either buy the keyed version, or go to a different brand. ... show more

Got as a Father’s Day gift, he loved it. The only thing about this safe that’s not perfect are the handles, they’re kinda slick so moving it often especially if you don’t have/aren’t able to get a good grip wouldn’t be super easy unless you pick it up with your hands on the bottom. Overall SUPER sturdy and definitely quality made. Would definitely recommend as a gift or personal use the same 10/10!! Obviously heavy, 40 lbs if I remember right but worth the price if you’re in need of a waterproof and fireproof safe. ... show more
