Features

  • Semi-enclosed humbucking pickups make full use of the characteristics of a semi-hollow guitar, allowing you to play high strings without harshness. The guitar's warm but distinctive midrange is highlighted by the fact that it doesn't produce an unnecessary low frequency sustain
  • Purple wood fingerboard with Maple Top Veneer and Canada Hard Maple neck gives you clear, penetrating cleans and dynamic overdrive tones without drowning your voice in a wall of sound, even with peripheral effects
  • The red sandalwood fretboard and mahogany body allow this guitar to maintain a well-balanced frequency range while no deformation due to changes in humidity, suitable for indoor or outdoor performance gigs
  • The T-O-M Bridge and jazz Tremolo system are very stable, allowing you to change strings and tunings without causing the bridge out of position, and the strings wont falling out of their slots during quick chording
  • Ploylacquer gloss finish and flower inlay will make you stand out from the crowd and attract attention quickly

  • Stunning!!!
Color: BLUE
I'm really impressed with this guitar. It played great right out of the box and looks STUNNING! The finish is flawless. This guitar plays really well.... action is pretty low, so not much adjustment needs to be made. The guitar feels solid in the hand... does not feel cheap or like a toy. Electronics work great, I can't find any issues. BIgsby bar works great-- be aware that the spring for the BIgsby is in with the extra strings, hex rod, and pick, in a small ziploc plastic bag. To install the spring simply detune all the strings and lift up on the bar until you get enough clearance to seat the spring. Very easy to do. The guitar also comes with a bag for the guitar. It is not padded. There is also a fairly detailed sheet explaining how to adjust the truss rod, if adjustment is needed. All in all, I'm speechless how little $$$ this guitar cost!!! Steal of the year, for sure! Just WOW ... show more

  • Absolutely an amazing guitar!!!!!!
Color: BLUE
Forget all the negative reviews! I’ve had more guitars than most of your idols have had! This guitar is 100% legit! Awesome craftsmanship goes into them! I find it extremely hard to believe that some of the guitars people have claimed to gotten actually arrived like they claimed! I will gladly keep this guitar over any of the top name ones out there! Flawless fretwork, flawless neck and body, superb electronics and man does the pickups sound amazing!! The bigsby style bridge is just as good as the real deal ones! ... show more

  • Gorgeous guitar for the money; a couple minor nitpicks
Color: BLUE
I wouldn't normally take a chance with my hard earned cash on an unknown-to-me like Zuwei, but I had been given a gift certificate and figured what the heck? After asking a few questions and receiving prompt responses from Zuwei Music I placed my order and a few days later had it in hand. Pros: The guitar is drop-dead gorgeous. Whoever designed the guitar did so with an artful eye towards every aspect, from the beautiful quilted maple top/veneer, body and neck binding, raised headstock logo (see pic), pick guard, vintage style tuners, Bigsby clone, switch/pots, pups and of course the really well done fretboard inlay. After setup it plays well and sounds great! A couple reviews mention swapping the pickups, but I found them punchy and lively. Cons: Yes, all the other reviewers are correct, it'll need to be set up. Most mail-order guitars do. I tightened the truss rod and lowered the action a bit. Ordered a fret polishing kit which I'll use once I replace the strings, which I think are .010s. The only cosmetic nitpicks I'd make are with some missed glue cleanup around the nut and ƒ-holes that could've used a little more paint attention (see pics). I'm hoping the former will clean up when I polish the frets and the latter is an easy touch-up that most would ignore. Lastly, there seems to be a grounding issue with my guitar that I'll need to look into. Not sure if it's a bad solder point, shielding, or what, but as other reviewers have not noted this I suspect it may be just mine, possibly from being bounced hard in transit. Other notes: The pup sector switch cap on mine is cream, most of the photos for this guitar show a black cap, but I like how the cream matches the pups ring and anyhow is easily replaced. Neck scale is standard Tele and is described as a slim C but feels a bit chunkier to me than either the necks on my 1989 Fender Strat '57 reissue or my Squire Affinity Tele, but not bad at all. Feels a bit narrower than either. While the inlaid neck has the traditional reference marks on the side, it'll take a while to get used to. While I love the placement of the knobs from an esthetic standpoint, you can bang into the bridge vol knob while working the tremolo if you go crazy, but to be honest this is not the kind of tremolo system to go crazy on. Google says Zuwei is pronounced "zoo-way" and translates as "organizing committee," I'm not sure if that's a very Chinese thing or a lost in translation reading. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Summary: You don't usually find a guitar in this price range with the same kind of beauty and appointments. If you're not averse to setting up a guitar yourself or paying someone else to do so, I have no problems recommending this Zuwei. ... show more

  • Overall, great for the price, order fret erasers and boiled linseed oil for the fretboard.
Color: YELLOW
Wobbly bridge when tremelo is used. Good build quality overall. I added a roller bridge. Would recommend if you do your own setups or know someone good. Very nice neck, body, and finish.

  • Very Nice Guitar for the money
Color: BLUE
An Very nice guitar for the money. I have a few minor issues with it, but overall I am pleased The Good This is a stunningly beautiful guitar. Excellent woodworking. The neck was straight and the fretwork was surprisingly good for a guitar in this price range. No fret sprout issues. Unlike other reviewers, I did not find that this needed a proper setup. I did not need to adjust the truss rod or the bridge. I just tuned it up and it played fine. Note: the spring for the faux-Bigsby comes in a separate bag so some assembly is required, but it was easy enough to install. Oh, and the gig bag actually had some padding to it. The not so good. I do not like the tuners at all. Some were extremely stiff while others were loose. I found the pickups to be rather microphonic, at least through my regular amp which is a Line 6 Spider IV. I was getting lots of hum. I did also play it through a Spark amp though, and I had far less problems. The fretboard inlays, with the vine of flowers, while while quite beautiful are bit too much. There is a flower on virtually every fret and the most prominent ones do not always line up with the standard 3,5,7,9 fret markers. The biggest flower is on the 10th fret. This can be visually confusing if you are used to looking at the fretboard markers as a roadmap to help you find your way around the guitar. In short I think this is a very good guitar that could be a great guitar with a few mods. I've already ordered some locking tuners and I will probably get new pickups when I figure out what I want. The tremolo is perfectly serviceable for my uses, but someone who uses a lot of tremolo in their playing might want to invest in a real Bigsby. ... show more

  • Very nice guitar... but needs some upgrades.
Color: YELLOW
Fit and finish is really nice, setup and intonation was exceptional for a$199 guitar. Packed nicely. Sounds pretty good out of the box, although it really needs better tuners and pickups. They look like filtertrons but they aren't. They don't sound bad but if you are expecting a gretsch sound its not quite there. Fender blacktop take offs fit perfectly. Had to drill the head for nicer tuners. Found a real bigsby and will probably get an upgraded bridge. Total investment is right at $300 with guitar and some takeoff parts. ... show more
