  • A very good guitar for a great price
Color: Green
My RD-100 came somewhat flimsily boxed, but was in one piece, thankfully. It looked great out of the box but i had to cut the nut slots lower and intonate it - two things that are to be expected on these budget guitars. The frets were level and in good shape. The neck had slight relief, which i like, and i was able to get the action as low as i like it without any buzzing. The humbucker pickups sound ok. I might replace them one day, but i truly don't think it's worth the hassle right now - time will tell. It's a tough job changing pick-ups in a semi-hollow body guitar and these seem ok, so far. The tuners are cheap (to be expected) but are working fine. I'll probably change them out for some $30.00 Guyker locking tuners here on Amazon, eventually, but for now i'm having no problems with them. These make great studio guitars once you set them up as you like. I don't think i would want to take them on the road for very long - they might not stand up to all that abuse over time. All in all, a very good guitar (once you set it up) for an unbelievable price! ... show more

  • Best cheap Guitar I’ve ever bought
Color: Green
I LOVE electric guitars! (I’ve been playing them for almost 30 years) Over my lifetime, I have bought about 15, and still have most of them; a few I have given away to friends and relatives. Let me just say that of the cheaper ones I have bought (<$200), this one is by far the best! I bought the surf green model, and it is beautiful, and very well made. No fret filling needed, neck, headstock, pickups, everything is GREAT! I put on a set of .10-.46 gauge Ernie Ball strings when I got it, and just adjusted the bridge height and saddles to eliminate a slight fret buzz and to correct the intonation. Seriously, I have a $350 guitar that I had to replace the tuners on to get it to hold a tune as well as this $169 Redid guitar does! I can’t say enough about the quality! The only thing to note is that the bottom of the body is slightly differently rounded than a true 335 style guitar, so a snug fitting 335 case will not fit this guitar. I went to a local music store and found another more generic hardshell case for it. Again, great guitar for your money! Looks, sounds, and feels amazing! ... show more

  • Great Budget Guitar
Color: Orange
If you are looking for an inexpensive 335 style guitar, this is it. In an effort to make this a short read, here are some pros and cons. This is a fun guitar that I played for 3 hours straight after receiving it. I have zero regrets. Pro: 1. Quick delivery 2. $159 for a NEW guitar! 3. Looks cool, I got the orange one and it is very orange 4. Sounds good, especially with a nice amp and some effect pedals 5. The action on mine was set super low which made for easy fretting of notes 6. The fret ends are rounded and not sharp at all 7. The pots are actually responsive to changes in volume and tone 8. The tuners are better than expected and the guitar holds tune well even when bending strings 9. The nuts is cut well and has even string spacing, so far the guitar has stayed in tune while playing 10. They placed an all black truss rod cover on mine which was different from the picture. I think this improves the overall look of the guitar, the extra writing of REDID RD100 was gaudy, and mimics a Gibson ES-335. Cons: 1. There are several blemishes in the finish, mine has scratches and swirls on the front and spots where it looks like a finger or something stuck to the finish 2. The inlay on my 7th fret is not level so you can feel it when you bend the strings 3. The pickups are microphonic, so when you start stacking pedals or add too much gain you can hear it squeal 4. The bottom isn't quite round so it doesn't look exactly like the more expensive 335 style guitars, but this is just a personal critique of the aesthetic 5. Plastic nut 6. The volume and tone knobs aren't aligned correctly with the 10 facing the screws when it is turned all the way up. When I went to remove the knob, I pulled the stem of the pot out as well, it still works, but has kind of discouraged me from trying to fix the alignment of the knobs. Overall, if you are looking for an inexpensive 335 style guitar, this is worth a shot. You can always add nicer pots and pickups in the future if you want, but this thing is ready to go for an amateur/enthusiast guitar player. ... show more
