  • Excellent tablesaw even without the value of added Safety!
Style: Saw
This is a very well made tablesaw, and at a price that is reasonable. PLUS, if you have a question or issue with the operation of this Sawstop Compact saw, the customer service is head and shoulders above the others. All of this and remarkable safety features make it as solid as they come. I highly recommend this saw and the company that makes it!!!!!!! ... show more

  • Feel safe and love it.
Style: Saw
Light and feel rigid. Too bad that it have increased the price. But at least I could get that shipped to my far country. Big kudos to the seller. You save my frustration of using the table saw. I feel safer. Great functionality and versatile. I love rail shelf function and thin rip cut in attached to the rip fan. As well tilt micro adjustment. Light indicator of different function could be simpler I think. Or at least add the note on the saw itself for ease of reference. In storage compartment, why not adding a thin space behind the accessory for another spare blade. A few miter of longer electric cord would be good. No complaint but it could build the motor for 120-220v range would be great for anyone everywhere in the world. Adding one more universal flexi vacuum adapter would be a greater good. ... show more

  • Excellent technology, cheap and clunky otherwise.
Style: Saw
After a bad injury, I succumbed to this saw. High cost doesn’t mean quality. Compared to the Dewalt DWE 7485 81/4” portable bench top table sa:. Difficult to read, black plastic miter guage. Clunky push/pull fence lock knob, hard to read fence measurement guide, poor out of the box dust collection, cheap 20 tooth saw blade. The blade height adjuster is nicely functionable, but plastic junk. The Dewalt clearly has a much sturdier and smoother design. ... show more

  • Excellent, safe portable table saw
Style: Saw
Safety was the primary reason I bought the Sawstop CTS. That being said, it is an excellent portable table saw. It took me a hour or so to get it perfectly aligned thanks to a couple YouTube videos, and now the accuracy of the cuts is great. The dust collector works pretty well hooked up ro my shop vac. My first project was the small crosscut sled I made. And then used it for the construction of a small tool shed. The only minor complaint I have is that it comes with a 24 tooth rip blade. Come on Sawstop, we spend almost a thousand dollars on a compact saw, and you force us to buy an additional blade right away. One of your general purpose blades would make much more sense for the typical DYI buyer , not a professional. That being said, I really like this saw almos as much as I like my fingers, ... show more

  • Quality saw with great fence
Style: Saw
One of the things I like the best about this saw is the fence. It is operated by a rack and pinion dial, and moves very substantially with only a minor twist in either direction. You will notice this as soon as you adjust it. But it’s still capable of very fine adjustments. The other added benefit of the fence is the flip down mechanism. It has two settings. One setting allows for very narrow cuts or very thin material. This is perfect for ripping a floor board as an example. The other setting is a support for large workpieces, like plywood. Both of these are really helpful. One downside, probably common to all table saws - it’s extremely loud. Wear ear protection for sure ... show more

  • DOA
Style: Saw
There is a plastic part that prevents the motor from rotating that was broken on arrival. It looks like its weakness is preventing rotation during a side impact. That may have been the mechanism during shipping that broke this part (a white U shaped piece, L-shaped in this case) I contacted SawStop directly, sent them photos, and they confirmed the saw was bad. The motor and blade resultantly spun clockwise a couple of degrees. Initially I was told that was normal. Bad thing to say. I could have been hurt. I tried to push stock through and due to the converging angle, though minimal, the wood could only be pushed through halfway before resistance prevented a complete cut. Moreover, this machine is heavier and delicate than I thought and is actually pretty difficult to place on the metal SawStop folding stand. This saw will work well for some people. I did feel it was compact and might serve someone well if you are really strong and you have limited space and you like your fingers, too, but I think other models should be considered first. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for.
Style: Saw
Excellent safe table saw for its purpose, general ripping and other types of cuts on proper materials. You can use better blades to get better results, just respect the feed rate and motor.

  • Safe, small, light and accurate right from the factory
Style: Saw
Let's face it, I bought this saw because it IS safer. That said, it is also small and comparatively lightweight (compared to the Jobsite Pro), and it is also well built and accurate out of the box as checked with my Woodpeckers square (no calibration needed). There is also metric measuring tape available for it (though it may be hard to find. I ordered mine from Australia). If you need a dado stack look elsewhere, but I prefer to use my routers in lieu of dados stacks anyway. When also used in conjunction with a track saw and parallel guides & a guide square, there is no reason for me to make the room for a cabinet saw. ... show more
