I bought this to replace my worn out garden hose. The first time I used it, it sprang back very nicely, without me even having to coil it up. The second time I used it, I had to coil it up manually, and the length while coiled had already stretched to be about twice as long as it was the first time I used it. That doesn’t bode well for how long the hose will retain it’s coiled nature. Even so, this hose still saves space as compared to a regular garden hose. I can still use my hose rack on the wall to help keep it out of the way, although it tends to tangle in itself if you try to wrap it around the hose holder more than once. So far, I haven’t had any problem with kinks in the hose. The hose is a little hard to stretch to its full length because it keeps wanting to spring back into a coil. It gives some resistance as you stretch it out, and it doesn’t stretch to quite the full 50 feet- it’s probably about 3-5 feet short because the hose stays slightly curled. Because it’s hard to stretch out fully, I wouldn’t recommend this for someone who has coordination issues or someone with weak upper body strength, like someone elderly. The hose keeps trying to curl back up, and you have to wrestle with it more as you approach it’s fully stretched-out length. It’s very lightweight, much more so than a regular garden hose. If you aren’t trying to stretch it too far, maybe only 15-20 feet, it works great. If you really need that full 50 feet of hose to water your whole yard, you might want to consider a different hose, or a coiled hose that’s longer. I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone with mobility issues because it’s easy to trip over the coils, as compared to a regular hose that lays flat on the ground. I haven’t noticed any leaks in the hose, or in the connections, so far. The water pressure is pretty strong without using a nozzle. I included a picture of the hose while on to show the pressure. It comes with an installed hose washer for the side that connects to the faucet. Overall, I’m pleased with how this hose saves me space in my backyard, but I can see how it wouldn’t work for some. Make sure you don’t let go of the hose while it’s still turned on. It will spray water all over you as it curls back up. ... show more

I somehow thought this hose would be of normal garden hose type in diameter, but likely it is my fault for not reading the specifications - this one is twice narrower than the regular one. Therefore, I am still looking for the occasion to use it and test it to full strength. So far I just tried to connect it to my water line and it seems to hold the pressure, but since it is quite short for my garden (15 ft), is not really for that purpose in my household. I guess it can be perfect for houses or apartments with balcony types of gardens. I do have an occasional need to use it in the house and, I guess, will need a connector between the household faucet and this hose to use it inside the house for, for example, filling up a fish tank or similar needs. Or, we can probably keep it on our boat as an extra hose for boat cleaning needs, since it is compact and easy to store. ... show more

I have seen these plastic coil hoses for years but never owned one. I've gotten weary of lugging out my heavy rubber hose for daily mundane tasks like hosing down the deck or watering the plants near the house. I decided to take the plunge with this hose to see if it would make life a bit easier. I guess the answer is yes, it beats lugging the heavy hose out every day. Despite its purported 50 ft. length, it curls itself up so it's easy to put away. The hose appears well made, with nice brass fittings. I find the plastic rather stiff and it does take a bit of force to get it extended to a useable length. Although the hose may be 50 feet long, since it is stiffly coiled, there is no way to extend it out a full 50 feet, but since my deck is only 25 feet from the spigot at its farthest point, that is okay with me. In any case, since it coils up by itself, there is no reason not to order a longer size, since, coiled up, it is quite compact. After having used the hose a couple of times, I do wonder how long the plastic casing will last. With care, perhaps a long time, but having caught it on patio bricks a few times, I wonder how much rough handling it will take. So far so good. For light duty washing and watering this hose does fine. I would not, however, recommend leaving it out in the elements, so I bring it into the garage when I am done using it. This is one very bright blue hose. I do not have strong hands but was able to attach it to the hose bib without any issue. The spray nozzle also fit without issue. It does seem that water pressure may be slightly diminished compared to a standard straight hose, possibly due to the spring/coil shape. It appears to be well made and durable. ... show more

This ended up being perfect for what I wanted it for. From one of our hose bibs I have a splitter and a super long hose on one side and wanted a nice short one for the other. I have a little gardening bench right beside it with a hook that holds this well. The brass ends seem to be decent quality and no leaks. The hose itself is a little more plasticy than I expected. It’s got a small diameter but again works fine for what I wanted. I’d be surprised if I could pull my 15’ hose farther than 10’ so I feel there may be an issue for some there. It’s decent at best and works great I just think it needs to be used under the right circumstances. I’d hate the 50’ version of this for sure. ... show more
