  • totally works
Style: Insect Traps
I would post an after picture of how effective these were but feared it would gross people out as the first few uses of these in my rubber tree plant managed to collect so many of those fungus gnat flies that I used gloves to pull it out to replace the sticky part. I usually find I'm doing battle with those little annoying gnats a few times a year - usually when I overwater by mistake - and this year, decided I wasn't going to try a more aggressive approach. I knew I needed to wipe out the larvae in the soil, but I also wanted to kill all the adults who were pro-creating. I stuck three of these in my plant over the course of the past month and my gnat problem is like 95% gone. I did use neem oil in conjunction with this and I think it was a good tactic. My plant remained healthy the entire time I used them. They are discreet, I was able to push them in far enough to sit just below the rim of my pot. The cost is so inexpensive for all the sticky pads you get, that i will probably just keep them in year round. ... show more

  • They Work
Style: Insect Traps
I noticed a few gnats flying around. My boyfriend thought they were fruit flies. I didn't think they were, but I set out my homemade fruit fly traps. Those usually fill up quite quickly if we have fruit flies and this time there were only a handful of flies in the trap. I figured then that it was fungus gnats. Some of my recent plant purchases included bark in the potting soil. I never use that because it seems to really promote fungus gnats. I got these traps set up after getting the first one stuck to my shirt. They are not a difficult level of assembly as far as knowledge, but one does have to have a fair bit of manual dexterity to do this with ease. The first couple weeks I only saw a handful of flies on my sticky traps. I figured either there weren't as many flies as I thought or the traps didn't work. After doing a deep water (I do let my plants dry out in between waterings) I noticed the flies were really coming alive. I have traps in plants in different areas of my home. Not all of the traps are extremely full, but I can see they have been working. One of the traps is doing overtime and I took a picture for this review. I did order another brand of traps because they were cheaper. I will see how they work out after they arrive. If they aren't as good I will definitely come back and spend the extra money for these. I also plan to follow the advice of another reviewer and place thesSticky side toward the soil covering the area around the plant. I want to try to catch them before they fly up out of the soil and into the air. The other reviewer also noted that the yellow attracts the gnats. The ones I have ordered are black. I'll update after I get the new ones and try them out. ... show more

  • I only wish they sold the adhesive papers alone
Style: Insect Traps
This product worked for well, and I am very satisfied. When I ran out of the adhesive stuff I was disappointed to find out that those are not sold separately, and you are required to buy the stick again. This, in my opinion creates unnecessary waste. As a result, although I do recommend this product, I opted for another option where I only had to buy the yellow adhesive papers since I still have the sticks and they are fully functional until further notice, ... show more

  • These things are really sticky!
Style: Insect Traps
We had a weird tiny fly outbreak in our house plant and these traps did the trick in capturing the little buggers! They are insanely sticky, so if you accidentally touch even a small corner trying to remove the protective paper it will be very hard to get off. I just wear gloves when I'm replacing the sticky paper, so not a big deal. ... show more

  • Sticky traps work phenomenally well!
Style: Insect Traps
These work really, really well. I was amazed to see how many little black flying things have been, and continue to be caught around my plants. Quite shocking, actually. Very easy to set up and then dispose of. Highly recommend.

  • Great product. Really works
Style: Insect Traps
Pros: Easy to use, really sticky. Great attractor for fungus gnats. Cons: Only 7 Sticky tabs, no refill packages that I could find. If you have a lot of house plants and gnats, it could get expensive.

These do a great job of clearing out adult fungus gnats. It’s so satisfying to throw away a sheet that’s COVERED in those little nuisances!
