  • Followed assembly instructions and was riding within an hour of opening both boxes!
I’m crippled with limited mobility and found easy to assemble following instructions provided. Did all labor myself after getting both boxes in my garage. The Rubicon is definitely a well designed and well built mobility scooter with good assembly instructions included.

  • Not so good, not so bad.
The scooter was very easy to assemble (use common sense). I couldn't believe how fast it goes! It also goes an amazing distance on a charge. The baskets are ok but I found another scooter for $100 less. It's the identical scooter. I hope it's a little tighter on the connections. (Here comes the bad part). The steering wheel doesn't stay straight. It gradually turns until you have to hold the handlebars turned so the unit goes straight. The headlight tilt is also too loose so the headlight doesn't always stay where you put it. Sometimes the clasp that holds the direction bar comes loose. Basically, the connections suck because you can't get them tight enough to stay put. Note: as with any scooter, this will tip over if you're riding on the side of any incline. If I need to return it and have any problem doing so, I will edit this review and take away the stars. ... show more

  • NO!
So sorry I bought this scooter. VERY heavy. A struggle to get into garage to unpack. Nuts and bolts, other parts loose and some missing in box. I said” give it a chance”. Cheap plastic parts. Went together “Okay.” Test ride in garage, no reverse. Open the door to test ride on my well packed gravel driveway. Front wheels go, back wheels bogged down. I stand an lift it out of area. Continually bogged down. Try it on flat grass yard. Wheels spin in place. I do weigh 200#. Weight limit says 300# so I thought this would work. NOT. NOT ALL TERAIN and too heavy to take to the mall. Return a nightmare, cost very high. ... show more

  • My scoot is good. Will be better!
Likes. I’m 6’5” 240lbs I’m actually comfortable on it. The price is fair. I got the rear basket free for some reason!, so big thanks for that! It is fast in 3rd gear. Walmart speeds in first. Easy for me to fold up. I’m actually fairly mobile. MS is a balance problem for me, not muscular. It feels sturdy while using. Left handed brake stops the machine well. It’s all it has. NO AUTOMATIC. I knew this prior to purchasing. Mechanically it is sound. The ride is smooth. It has 2 front tires, so don’t think your buying a tight turnaround scoot. Dislikes. The wires are to short for full extension of the handlebars. 5 inches too short. Yes I’m 6’5” the arm rests are to low. The metal wire basket installed doesn’t allow for sliding the seat back. It came with pre scuffs on the fenders, I kinda like putting my own damage on stuff! Lol The machine is good enough that I would buy another from this Seller. That, and I can customize the dislikes into likes fairly cheap. ... show more

  • Not as advertised
Not as advertised. 1. Not ZTR – “5 foot turn radius” per instruction sheet. Maybe put your feet on the floor & lift front end for sharp turns? This is the worst flaw. 2. Not for 300 lbs, “265 max”. Seat flexes backward under my weight. 3. Seat is way too close to handlebars, will slide back a little but not far enough, and must be slid forward to mount or remove seat. I wonder if it will break with my weight always as far back as it will go. 4. Battery is non-removable, bolted to frame. “Charge no more than 10 hrs” means no auto shut-off on charger. “Do not discharge completely, charge at least once a month or damage will result” Bet it’s expensive to replace. 5. Not all terrain, weak power at low speed, high speed is much too fast for fragile people. “Not to be used in grass, gravel, mud, snow”. More a road racer than mobility assist. 6. Arm rests are a joke, light weight & rise barely above the seat. Might be good for attaching cup holder, but not to rest arms. They do flip up, but I just left mine off. 7. Seat and rear basket must be removed before scooter can be folded. 8. Very nice rear basket, but the seat must be removed to be install or remove basket, and worse blocks seat from being slid back very far. Don’t know how much use it will get for the trouble. Would be nice if brackets were just a little longer to prevent blocking seat sliding. 9. When folded, scooter is small but too heavy for me to hoist up & down stairs, so I’m still going to need to build a ramp and get someone to lift it in & out of car. It can be driven without weight in the seat, so that’ll help with loading. Means no safety interlock though. 10. Handlebars seem too fragile for the scooter. All that being said, I’m keeping it. It is small and cute and for the most part seems solidly built. I have help with loading & unloading. Good for zoo trips with the grandkids if not shopping trips alone. More of a toy than the serious mobility aid I wanted. ... show more

  • No tech support
My husband(who is a retired millwright) is on oxygen and we bought the Rubicon so he could get around easier, and liked the light weight, and fold up features. It arrived with two problems. First the left front wheel wobbled with a broken spoke. We contacted Rubicon, sent a video and the next work day the tech. dept. responded and sent us a new wheel in 8 days which solved the problem. The second problem they did not resolve. When the basket was mounted on the bottom bracket, there was about a 1/2 inch gap on the back bracket. When tightened, it did not allow for the seat to be installed. Rubicon sent us a video on how to install the seat which did not help. We then asked for the specs for the bracket and they never sent those. My husband suspected the bracket wasn't long enough. So we left the basket just bolted on the bottom. When he went over the threshold to go outside he had his oxygen tank in the back (weighing about 7.5 pounds) and the basket fell off. It had ripped through the bottom mounting plate. It has been approx. 10 days since we asked for the specs. ... show more
