The Rokid Max AR glasses offer a unique experience, projecting a large screen in front of your eyes with adjustable focus controls. The Max glasses look very futuristic and really grab others' attention, making them even cooler. Their large, oval front lenses stand out, and they come with an opaque black plastic cover to block bright light. While not a full augmented reality experience, the Rokid Max glasses provide a bright picture and a wide field of view. They also have diopter adjustment dials, allowing you to focus the lenses. These glasses project images like a face-mounted monitor, with motion-based features accessible through an Android companion app. With the Android app, you can use multiple screens simultaneously with motion tracking when turning your head. The Rokid Max glasses are comfortable to wear, as I use them on flights since I travel a lot. I also use them to view videos while doing chores around the house as the cable is very comfortable due to the slight angle it has. You can change the audio from privacy mode to a louder output by holding the button down, which is great! I bought these with high hopes after reading the reviews, but ultimately I ended up returning them. Pros: Excellent, bright screen. They got rid of the screen door effect like on VR headsets. Honestly it has a really really nice picture. Comfort was not great, but not horrible. They were definitely wearable. Cons: If I moved, it would pull the cable and knock the glasses askew on my face. This got a little annoying while I was lying in bed watching tv. Also had some charging issues with the google tv device. It would charge, but I had it randomly come on and go into standby and run the battery down. It did this twice without anyone touching it and I had did a full shutdown. I did use it with my laptop, which was cool but not sure how much it would get used like that. The biggest issue for me though, which i suspected before I bought them, due to them not completely going around the eyes there was a lot of light when watching things. The screens are bright enough to not appear dim, but for me it was an annoyance. ... show more

So connection straight the phone or tablet, colors are trash. Both apple and Android by the way. Improves with Rokid Station. Maybe there is support or firmware. Nope this is it. You buy it as is good luck. Sound is barely audible. Bought Xreal glasses and a bid leap in difference better colors, sound is loud. But they too have limited support. So if you need some glasses. Go elsewhere but honestly after a few days of invested entertainment you will ditch them. ... show more

    • Works great for most apps, but not so well for others

I have enjoyed my Rokid up until a few months ago. Around July something happened with an update or something, but now Apps like Moviesanywhere, Fandango at Home, and Apple TV+ and sometimes Paramount + have an issue where video is great, but there is no sound. I've been checking and updating the device as often as I can, but it's still missing sound on these apps. I contacted customer support and they told me to reach out to each individual app for a solution. Without investigation on their part I was told it was probably a digital media rights issue, but I've paid for everything and even have ongoing subscriptions with Apple TV+ and if it is DRM wouldn't it just not work at all? I mean I have video just no sound. I reached out to the apps and no one at any of them has found a solution yet. I contacted Rokid again and told them I had done all they asked and let them know I was not pleased that I had to go out to each individual app developer to ask them about a solution and was disappointed after I pointed out the issue that they didn't have a team on it to look into it. They responded that they would take my recommendations to the appropriate team. So far, no response. I don't write a lot of reviews, but for this one I felt I needed to. The cost of this device is too much for it not work with some very common apps, especially for movie and TV lovers. I think it has the potential to be a great device, but falls short with product solutions and customer support. It's been been months and I still have the same problem.
