This is under the driver seat of my son's Civic as part of a small amplified system with the 4 auxiliary speakers on a 100-watt 4 channel amplifier (25w/channel) and this thing had to be turned way down so it didn't over-power the rest of the stereo system! The bass response is nice and "tight" and is getting even better as the subwoofer continues to break in. The unit allows you to set the frequency response and gain so tuning it to match your system is simplistic. The remote is mounted on the dash just below the fog-light switch and is another excellent addition as no 2 songs are the same and he is able to adjust the sub accordingly with ease. I've installed several of the Rockville compact subwoofers starting in '19. To date, all still function exactly as they did when new. I have never had a single issue with ANY of their products. For the price these are, that is AMAZING! I can honestly say I recommend these to ANYONE who is looking to add a subwoofer to their system but doesn't have the room or doesn't want to spend the $$$ for a full-sized subwoofer, amplifier, wiring, circuit breaker etc. as you will NOT regret it! I've installed hundreds of amplifiers and over 100 subwoofers. I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality, durability, sound quality etc. Granted, this is never going to rattle windows like a high-powered stand-alone subwoofer can, but it will definitely add the missing bottom end of the music you listen to in your vehicle and sound excellent in doing so! I HIGHLY recommend these! This install brings my usage of these subs up to 20 and every single person who has one is completely satisfied with it. INCREDIBLE value for the money compared to a stand-alone sub with all of the trimmings and best of all this takes up NO usable space like a standalone sub does.     • Just what I needed

I recently installed four replacement speakers in my 2020 KIA Optima. Unfortunately, the new four co-axial door speakers just didn't deliver any bass. If I EQ'd the bass into the door speakers, then I wasn't able to turn up the volume without severe distortion. So I purchased this 200Wrms 10" Rockville SS10P powered subwoofer to fill the shortage of bass from the door speakers. It fits perfectly under the passenger seat and is able to deliver more bass and punch than I would ever need. I connected the amp using parallel connections with the rear door speakers and the high-level inputs, so that the sub would automatically turn power on. When I initially set up the subwoofer's gain, bass boost and cutoff frequency, I dropped the bass level on the car stereo 3-band EQ down to -6dB to take away the bass frequencies from the door speakers that were not being reproduce. Then I adjusted the cutoff frequency of the sub to 180Hz (all of the way clockwise), added about+6dB of bass boost (center position on the potentiometer) and finally adjusted the gain so that the sub was much louder, without distortion, than the door speakers. The reason for dialing up the gain control, was that the remote attenuator now had the range it needed to allow me to fine tune the sound from the drivers seat. The remote level control is an attenuator that doesn't need to be installed for this subwoofer to function correctly. You can set the levels that you prefer on the subwoofer's amplifier without the remote attenuator connected, but after an hour of listening, making adjustments, sliding the sub back under the passenger seat and repeating over and over... I finally decided that the remote attenuator would make listening adjustments much easier for me. There is enough of a difference in the subwoofer's sound levels when it is under the seat than when it's sitting out on the backseat floor that the remote attenuator made final level adjustments easier when the subwoofer was under the seat. When I finally found the levels I was looking for, then I just hid the remote level control underneath the seat with the subwoofer. ... show more

I drive a single cab pickup, so a slim sub/amp combo is ideal for me. In my opinion it's perfect for a pickup if you want to go with the slim sub/amp combo. Now.. if this was put into the trunk of a regular car it probably won't be enough. In an open back-to-trunk style small suv or jeep it will be much better than in the trunk of a car. It sounds loud enough in the cab that I thought it would be noticeable from the outside, but it is very minimal sound from outside. It sounds really good for $130. I also have upgraded my door speakers which helps but still I'm very satisfied with this sub and I love having the separate wired bass controller. There are many other similar options for a little cheaper, but I went with rockville because they seem to be a more established company(they all comes from overseas. But I did watch some positive reviews about this unit in particular). Still.. be mindful this sub will not rattle your car or produce extreme bass. However, it does produce more than I was expecting and it sounds good. I didn't even adjust any of the sound setting knobs so it possibly could sound even better/a bit louder if I tune it. Also, I would advise buying a separate wiring kit to install it. The one I used is by Scocshe that was $8.99 and well worth it. I used the 12 gauge wiring kit ... show more

This sub works great in my Silverado 1500. It fits perfectly under the seat and delivers the right amount of bass. Only con is 4 awg wire does not fit in the power terminals.
