This thing is awesome. Inexpensive but great sounding. Lots of customization options including the button colors so that it can match your trim. They will also send you custom wallpapers and startup images if you email them or contact them on Facebook. Support is WONDERFUL and super responsive. I’m not a car person and I was able to remove my old stereo and install this myself when my Volkswagen infotainment center failed. I was priced $3400 to install a new Volkswagen infotainment center. I’m so glad I went with this, installed myself, and saved over $3000! I installed this in a 2004 Dodge Ram truck. Took out an old pioneer CD player. Bought the accompanying dash kit and wiring harness and this thing hooked right up. Love the volume knob on the side and the interface is super easy to use. I emailed the company and they sent me the updated firmware and the Dodge Ram logo that I uploaded in a couple minutes and that was really easy. One important thing, if you want the initial start up screen and the wallpaper to show your cars logo, you need to tell them that. The first time I just said send me the wallpaper, after I installed it it still said the name of the stereo at the beginning and then eventually it showed the car logo. I emailed them to ask about why it wasn’t at the very beginning and they said you have to ask for that, so they sent me a new file that did both the initial start up and the wallpaper. There communication was awesome! Overall very happy with this product... I can't believe this thing was under $150! Total game changer for my truck. Took maybe 1.5 hours to install but I could do it again in probably 30 minutes. Dash kit took a little bit of figuring out. Having Apple Car Play is huge! Now I have WAZE maps on my dash instead of on my phone, spotify works awesome, and this thing is bluetooth so now I can answer my phone from the unit and talk through unit's microphone and hear people in my truck's speakers. This thing moved my truck way up to 2020! Couple other items of note... The side brackets take some trial and error when screwing them onto the unit and making the unit sit flush with my dash kit. You just have to keep adjusting it and I had to snip off some parts of plastic on the side brackets and make a couple other small adjustments inside the dash that you'd never see. My screen looked like it had a protective film over it with some bubbles but I couldn't tell if that was the actual screen or it had a cover. I emailed them and they said the protective film could be removed... so happy those bubbles weren't on the screen! Sound quality is much better than the old Pioneer CD player! I did not hook up the backup camera yet because I need to figure out what hole to poke it through to the underside of the car. ... show more

I was really excited to install this radio after reading the description and reviews, which made it seem like it would be a great fit for my 2016 Chevy Cruze. Amazon even confirmed that it would work with my car. I received the unit quickly and was eager to get started. However, when I removed my stock radio and looked at the connections, I realized that this unit required hardwiring, which wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the product description. When I checked the product page again to see if hardwiring was necessary, I was told by Amazon, "No, it does not require hardwiring. According to the product description, it connects to your phone via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for wireless CarPlay and Android Auto." This was clearly not the case for my vehicle, and now I can’t install the radio as expected. I’m giving it one star because it’s frustrating to receive a product that wasn’t as described, and I was misinformed by Amazon about the installation process. ... show more

Finally got around to installing this in my '05 Porsche Boxster. A caution to other Porsche (987/997) owners: if you get the Metra 911 dash kit, this stereo will NOT FIT in that kit without some extensive dremel work to the Metra kit. It’s just a few mm too wide. I had to dremel off the stereo’s trim attachments as well. It’s not the fault of the stereo. I just didn’t measure before I bought. The unit itself is your straightforward double DIN/half depth common with modern head units that don't have CD drives. Comes with just about everything you'd expect, including a backup camera, but no external mic. I'm guessing there's a mic on the face but the instructions don't say anything about one. I just know it it works for Hey Siri activation and BlueTooth audio calls. People on the other end say they can hear me just fine. I did not hook up the backup camera, because I am lazy. Pros Physical volume knob! And physical buttons for next track/previous track. Honestly the fact it has a physical volume knob and CarPlay were the two reasons I bought this unit. CarPlay works great. Screen response is a little laggy compared to the built-in unit in my Buick but it's fine. Despite no external microphone, AND the fact that it's a convertible, apparently people can hear me just fine on calls, as well as Hey Siri activation. Granted, that's with the top up, but I have no expectation that any unit would work with the top down so I haven't tried. My Boxster came with the Bose speaker system, which was more work to get working than your average system (and still has an annoying alternator whine, which is NOT this head unit's fault, it's just the dumb Porsche wiring). When driven by this head unit, it sounds phenomenal. The original Porsche system was meh, but that's because I had to listen through an FM transmitter. Now, with a proper head unit with BlueTooth/CarPlay, and a 16-band EQ, this thing sounds incredible. Cons The instructions are pretty minimal, which, whatever. Most things are very intuitive anyway. Uses ISO wiring colors. I wish it had wireless CarPlay, but alas it does not. So when I want my maps up, I have to plug in a cable. Such a first world problem, I know. Despite having customizable boot logos and wallpaper, there is no available tool or instructions on how to do it. You have to contact the company and send them what you want, and they'll send you back the files to do the boot logo. That seems completely unnecessary. Just give me a simple tool to do it myself, or even better, just let the thing accept your standard JPGs or PNGs and have a way to copy them to internal storage from a USB stick. That said, they got back to me with the boot image within a couple days (it was the weekend) and it looks awesome. The screen is decent but kind of dull, and a little laggy in the interface. In an enclosed cabin it's probably fine, but in an open top convertible it gets a little hard to see in the sun, and in direct sunlight you won't see anything. Just the nature of a convertible. Overall I am pretty happy with the unit. The sound quality is quite stellar, assuming your source isn't an mp3 from the late 90s. With my higher bitrate tracks, it has some fantastic clarity and staging. Definitely recommend as an upgrade from a stock system. ... show more
