Very cute fireplace and fits nicely in my small place. I had read in some reviews that the remote didn't work. Well, my remote doesn't work either. Not sure if battery is dead but they should send you a remote that works.

I bought this specifically for the convenience of having a remote (unfortunately it only works from directly in front of the unit, not from several feet away which is where the couch & I are located). The second selling point was the addition of red & blue flame options along with the standard orange (unfortunately they look dreadfully artificial & do not blend in at all). On the up side, it is charming, the perfect size, & I am thrilled with it despite the fact it was not exactly as anticipated/described. I do not intend to use the heat function (springtime in FL) but instead use the unit for a "campfire" effect in the corner of my living room.
