I bought this specifically for the convenience of having a remote (unfortunately it only works from directly in front of the unit, not from several feet away which is where the couch & I are located). The second selling point was the addition of red & blue flame options along with the standard orange (unfortunately they look dreadfully artificial & do not blend in at all). On the up side, it is charming, the perfect size, & I am thrilled with it despite the fact it was not exactly as anticipated/described. I do not intend to use the heat function (springtime in FL) but instead use the unit for a "campfire" effect in the corner of my living room. I literally received the space heater about an hour ago. So I will not be able to give an opinion about the durability. The size of this heater is perfect for small spaces. It also does not feel flimsy. It has a good sturdiness to it. My room is very small, and bigger would definitely not work. I love every aspect of it, and it’s a great second choice if you are not allowed to have a fire place. I have one thing that I don’t really like. I have to open the little doors in order to be able to use the remote. That kind of defeats the purpose of the remote control. Luckily, I live small, and I’m not lazy, and it just takes me a few steps to do this. Lol. ... show more

I bought this to warm my bedroom without having to warm the entire house and this little unit does just that! I wish it had more heat output options as it only has two levels but for the space I’m asking it to warm it does the trick. It does have difference level flames for the light so you have options for level of the “fire” but that doesn’t affect the heat output. The unit itself only gets hot on the grill where the heat is expelled so I feel comfortable with my pets around it. I’d never leave it on when I’m not home but it can handle being on for many hours at a time although I’ve noticed the cord does get warm after 10+ hrs of use. The smaller the space the faster it warms but it warms my large master bedroom from 63 to 70 deg in a matter of a couple of hours. I’m not sure this unit would warm a large RV but I’ve thought about it for that use too. ... show more

I ordered this but didn't do all of my homework. It seems to be of good quality and the lifelike logs with scenes of an actual fire burning is a nice addition. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is the fact it doesn't have a thermostat. It does have two heat settings but it's either on or off. Other than that I it seems to be a nice product. ... show more

This unit arrived when promised, well packaged, and in excellent condition. It would have been quick to assemble if the necessary screws had been included, but they were missing. Fortunately my husband has a vast collection of bolts, nuts, washers, and screws of every size and type and was able to find some that worked. The unit does not put out quite as much heat as we had hoped, so it takes awhile for our large den to warm to a nice temperature. BUT it LOOKS LOVELY!! We both love the style of the exterior of the unit!!! And the appearance of the logs and flame can be easily changed to suit the mood we want to achieve using the remote control.
