  • Most Fun You Can Have in RC For Under $500, but Wait- It's Under $200!
Color: Red
Rlaarlo has recently burst onto the scene with all kinds of cool and interesting RC vehicles, all high quality and AFFORDABLE? Yep. They build some great RC vehicles, gotta have them all, and I do! Crazy stuff coming!! Now the good part. This thing is a beast! If bashing is your thing, this will bash with the best! I ran it into half a dozen curbs, nothing busted. High spped jumps over cornhole boards? Took it like a champ. Charge it, and change tires, that should be it, it you're not too aggro. My first time gunning the throttle, I was a bit disappointed, it was a little sluggish, not very quick, and not very fast at that. Turns out, I'd been fiddling with the trim controls, and apparently had set the throttle to about 1/3. A twist of that knob, and BOOM! Fire breathing desert truck! The motor is finished in a Castle-like green, and is matched with a killer proprietary ESC. Radio is typical RL, gets the job done, quick, accurate, but nothing fancy. Looks great, and 100% gets the job done. I absolutely love Rlaarlo's AK-917, and also have their 1/14 truck, which is my daily. This handles very well, very stable in high speed cornering, and super quick. Not sure about top speed, but I don't doubt their claims on this one. Rlaarlo also has incredible customer service, the folks over there answer all of my emails in less than 24 hours, usually in just a few hours. They have helpful advice, and make it right when things don't work out perfectly. A+ for customer service, great guys, very knowledgable. As much fun as you are going to have for $185, period. If you have been waiting to get back into RC, this is your truck. Five Exceptionally BIG Thumbs Up! Rlaarlo Rules! ... show more

  • Great buggy
Color: Yellow
Great buggy for the price. It's a bit more pointed to the experienced user in my opinion. The Build quality is good, and all the differentials had enough grease in them. It Is pretty fast offroad and has pretty good handling, but you have to be careful on solid surfaces as the front pitches down under breaking because of the offroad suspension and may result in you flipping the car. I had no issues with heat from the esc or the engine (I'm located in Florida) and the standard battery had plenty of run time. I’ve just gotten back into RC cars after a few years and I have Arrma’s, Kyousho, Losi, Wltoys, and Traxxas and other RC brands to name a few, and it is definitely becoming one of my favorites to take out. I wouldn’t recommend treating it like a basher though, its sturdy but it feels more performance orientated than bashing. But like with all RC cars the point is for it to be fun, and the RIAARIO 1:12 RTR brushless desert car is just that. Enjoy. ... show more

  • Best RTR rc car I have bought
Color: Yellow
This thing was perfect right out of the box. Runs fast and straight. didn't even want to put another radio in it and use my GT5 controller because it is so awesome as is. Shocks were setup really good too. I am running 3s but the stock 2s battery is actually really good and i use it in my Wltoys 144001 and its the best fitting battery ive had for it hands down. Really good buy and it was on sale. ... show more

  • Solid beginner RC
Color: Red
The media could not be loaded. This is great buy for what you get. Brushless motor up to 3s, lights, decent controller/transmitter, sizable battery tray with a strap. In comparing this to say Haiboxing RC, i wish I would have brought this one from Rlaarlo first. The quality is much better. This thing is fast for its size. I got it up 41mph on 3s on the road. It pop wheelies as well. Cons: The speed/throttle control also controls the brakes. So while you can lower the speed it also lowers how quickly it can brake. The provided 2s battery does not work with my charger, and came too uncharged to turn the RC on. I can't charge it either. Not so much an issue with me as I have other Lipos. It's listed as 1/12 scale. However the Haiboxing 1/12 scale is bigger, taller and wider. Motor runs hot. Up to 145 in the heat sink. Of it was slightly bigger compared to other 1/12s or if the throttle dial did not reduce the brakes, this would be a 5/5 ... show more

  • Build Quality is Suspect - Update
Color: Yellow
Let's see, first or second run left rear tire fell off. Lost the metal hex nut so I used one of the plastic extras. Well that melted the plastic hex to the suspension arm. At the same time the tiny wheel nut pulled through the plastic wheel. OK, so now I spend $8 on Metal hex nuts and another $45 to replace wheels and tires as I could not find wheels to match the stock tire. Installed the new parts and for the first time I was able to go through a whole battery charge. As I finished this run i noticed the car tracking to one direction and trim wouldn't resolve it. One of screws holding the front turn buckle was gone. Now that I lost a wheel and suspension screws I did a closer examination of the car and at least 4 or 5 screws on the car are gone. So in my opinion the build quality sucks. I have an Arrma buggy I bought two years ago that I drove hard and didn't replace any parts for over a year. With the parts I've had to buy the Rlaarlo now cost very near the price of the Arrma. So I've owned this car about a month and I have maybe run it a handful of times where it hasn't lost or broken parts. I love the looks of the car and it is very fast on 3s, if I can get it to quit losing parts it will be a fun fast car. So if you buy one of these i strongly recommend you do a full once over to avoid some of the issues I've encountered. For $200+ dollars I expected much better build quality. Since I posted this review I re-seated and replaced missing screws. After 3 or 4 more runs the car went from four wheel drive to front wheel drive, $#@&, took it apart AGAIN to find the gear at the rear end of the drive shaft has now snapped in two. I'm done with this car. I've been running rc cars for over 40 years and this the most problematic car I've ever owned. I've spent 25 or 30 hours repairing broken and lost parts for maybe 3 hours of run time. The fun to repair ratio is getting lower every day. I'm gonna go drive my Arrma. ... show more
