  • Excited to play my gc again

Be advised that if you decide to purchase this beside your gamecube has the digital out port otherwise it won’t be compatible. Otherwise this product is definately worth it and works like it should.

  • Pretty Sweet
Edition: Single
I'm really impressed with this product. It does a great job upscaling GameCube games so they display in a crisp HD image and really makes the color pop off the screen with its RGB range. The only thing I hate about it is the fact that it displays the resolution everytime it changes between gameplay and a cutscene for games. That's pretty annoying but not a dealbreaker or anything. Overall, really happy I finally got it. It's a little pricey, but it's the best value for the money when it comes to GameCube video output options. ... show more

  • Just buy it

If you're looking for a gamecube hdmi solution this is amazing. Read up on how to tinker with the settings if you want to, but even if you don't it just works. No external power needed, just plug this into the gamecube (if you have the right port) and plug an hdmi in and you're good to go. Picture quality is great in my experience, it's also cool that you can add scanlines if you want. ... show more

  • Better than expected
Edition: Single
Trying to play GameCube on a 4k 65in tv is horrid and barely able to make out anything clearly. Got this just seeing if it will work even just a little better. This adapter went way above what I even expected it’s night and day difference wish I got it sooner. Mainly playing phantasy star C.A.R.D

  • Software issues cause an annoyance, otherwise it is excellent
Edition: Single
The Prism HDMI adapter is one of a few available options to convert the signal in an original model Gamecube directly to HDMI for use on modern displays. It does work very well but has had an ongoing issue for what appears to be 4 years. Each digital output converter device for Gamecube is built on the same software called GCVideo which was developed by individuals that are not associated with projects like RetroBit, Carby, or GCHD. The developer of the GCVideo software was unwilling to manufacture hardware, so other companies did just that and made use of the software. At time of writing, any device running GCVideo will suffer screen blanking for about 3 seconds any time the output resolution changes. Confirmed games that have this problem include Resident Evil 4, Rogue Leader, Rebel Strike, and Eternal Darkness. For example, in Rogue Leader, when you fly to the edge of the gameplay area, a short cutscene plays that shows the craft performing a U turn. Because this is prerendered, the screen goes blank for a few seconds when you reach this threshold. You then see the craft fly straight for a second or so during the cutscene, then the screen blanks again for a few seconds after the cutscene ends and gameplay resumes. Recommendations from the community indicate that the most recent version of GCVideo that this problem did not occur was 2.4c -- released in November of 2018 -- which can be found on the GamecubeHacks subreddit. As well, any modded console running Swiss can instead use the Force Video Active advanced setting. You should be prepared to either downgrade the Prism's firmware or mod the Gamecube to make use of Swiss. Beyond mentioned software issues, it does an excellent job of making an old Gamecube usable on modern displays. You can definitely tell by look that you're dealing with PS2 era graphics, but it will still look better than you remember. I don't have the means to get a proper screenshot given that attempts to photograph a monitor will make it look worse, but I definitely find it worth the investment. ... show more

  • Makes playing on hdtv more enjoyable.
Edition: Single
At $80 I debated buying this for some time. After using it I’d say it’s worth it for the much cleaner picture. (Notice how much cleaner the characters faces are in Double Dash.) I’m very satisfied with the Prsim HD, if you can afford it and want your games to look as clear as possible get this.

  • Bring your Gamecube into the 21st century
Edition: Single
**You will need the Game Cube model with the serial port in order to use this! Not all Game Cube' have this, so check the back of your game cube first** This product does indeed work, and it will allow you to experience your Game Cube like never before. It may not be as good as the actual Nintendo version, but I was able to see details in games I never realized were in the game originally! This product doesn't just give you better resolution, it also gives you better color overall and much less distortion then ever before (for a Game Cube) and this makes a big difference in the game experience. Overall, totally worth the purchase. ... show more
