I enjoyed watching my 7 yo nephew unwrap this car and watching his eyes glow. His first reaction was “whoa, it’s looks like a transformer!” The black and yellow and cool looking wheels does make it look super high tech. I watched him play with it non stop for about 30 minutes and watching him be mesmerized with the cool vapor effect before the car needed to be recharged which felt like it was over 2 hours. I took away a star because the charge didn’t last very long and didn’t keep my nephew entertained for long. This car is a cool and the kids love it. I have been trying out several different RC's to find the best one for the kids. The boys range in age from 12, down to 4, and they can operate it without any issues. They love the bold color of the car, and they think that the tires are so unique. The remote control operates the car very well and is very responsive. The battery lasts about 30 to 45 minutes before it needs to be recharged. The remote uses two batteries and they have not run down yet, and it has been used a lot. They love the 360 degree feature. This RC car is really cool. I got it for my Godson as Christmas gift last Christmas he totally loved it. He is 7 years old and it was really easy for him to use and control. We did have to change the batteries for a couple of days after the first time he used it and that's because he used it for hours on in. I can for sure say it's very durable because he crashed it into anything he could and it didn't break. I think it's a great RC car for kids 7 and up. Good value for your money. This remote control was a great gift for my 7yr. old nephew. The car is fast and at first the vapor was a hit with the kids until they kept having to fill it up every few minutes so that meant less playing time with it. The car can race on pretty much any surface and wow it goes hard and fast. There are some downfalls to this car... The charge on the car last about 30 minutes and take 3-4 hours to fully charge and the remote isn't rechargeable it takes AA batteries. This is the reason for taking 1 star off. I got this for my youngest child. Alot of toys in the house are hand me downs from his older sisters, so I figured, let's get him a good ole fashioned remote controlled car. This isn't old fashioned though. Quite the opposite. It is a futuristic racer. The tires are crazy looking and the vapor smoke is pretty cool. He isn't exactly Tokyo drifting with it, but he can grasp and handle the controls. Two drawbacks are that the vapor needs to be refilled often and the battery charge doesn't last that long. While these car work just as advertised, the smoke, the red lights and fairly fast as well. They are way overpriced at $40. The car feel like it’s made from cheap plastic and doesn’t look like it can even last a year of play with little kids. Unfortunately I can’t recommend this product.

    • A lot of action -- and a 9 year old boy took to it like a duck to water!

Pretty much an instant hit with a 9-year old nephew! We pre-installed the AA batteries needed, and the battery was pre-charged for a good 15 minutes of fun. The "vapor trail" was okay -- he liked it at first, but it was a nuisance to have to re-fill the tank, so after the first few times, it pretty much went unused. The car has a LOT of action, and pretty fast, too! The wheels will grip just about any surface except heavy carpet -- it actually dis real well on indoor/outdoor carpet. A definite hit for a 9 year old -- with a limit of play time versus charge time. For this reason, I deducted one star. Fifteen minutes to thirty minutes of play time followed by a 3 HOUR wait for the car battery to re-charge -- it's an eternity to a 9-year old! It would also be nice if the controller used a rechargeable battery so both could recharge at the same time without having to buy AA batteries. If it had a spare main battery that could be charged and waiting, that would help, but there'd still be downtime. Overall, a great pre-teen boy-toy (and his younger sister loved it too!), with some limitations that cause downtime, so it gets a four-star rating from us! Note: It goes pretty fast and hard, so I expect the front spoilers to break off with enough crashes, but so far, they've held on for dear life! ... show more
