  • Not as good as I expected.
Size: 14"
I normally use Evans heads, but I wanted to give this a try. I like tuning my snare high because I like that high pitch rim shot sound on my snare. And with this snare I don’t get that. I tuned it exactly like I’ve tuned other heads in the past. But this one sounds damp even after high tuned. Almost like there are moon gels on them. If you want remo go with a power stroke 4 instead. But for me Evans G2, EC reverse dot, or genera dry are my go to’s ... show more

  • THE BEST and most versatile snare drum head!!
Size: 14"
Even thought I find myself deviating between REMO/Evans on my toms (batter heads), the Remo Emperor X is my absolute A1A go-to for shows (of any kind) every time! The head supports low/vintage (BFSD-ish) tuning OR you can tighten it up SNUG and play all your favorite 311 tunes with a similar "pop"! I'm a hard-hitting, pocket-rock drummer and I just love the durability, versatility and consistent response (even when it's almost time for a new one). You won't regret trying this head!! ... show more

  • A very special drum head
Size: 14"
Please note: This head is thick...very thick. It is great for the player who plays small venues and needs low volume and needs some nice projecting tone. I have it on two snares. (8x14 custom) (Ludwig copper 8x14) it works well on both. It is also great for the studio. For obvious reasons.

  • My snare is fully operable again
Size: 14"
Managed to mess up the cover on my snare pretty badly (long story). Was very happy to find this replacement which was both easy to apply to my existing snare (after removing the old cover) and very reasonably priced. I honestly think my snare sounds even better now with this cover. I'm considering buying replacements for all older drum heads. ... show more

  • Satisfying pop
Size: 14"
If you take the time to tune your snare, this is probably one of the best heads you can get, especially if you play heavy music. I was considering buying a new snare after playing a Mapex Chromium metal snare. Instead of getting a new snare, I ordered the Emperor head at the behest of a friend and installed it on a low-end Yamaha wooden snare. After cleaning, waxing, tuning and then dampening the overtones, the resulting tone is a satisfying pop. The price is a few dollars more than you might spend for a Remo Ambassador, but it's well worth it in my opinion. ... show more

  • It’s a thic boi
Size: 14"
Absolutely a unit of a drumhead. I used it and fiddled with it fir a month. Has a girthy center hit, and a powerful rimshot. The issue I had was that I assumed it would still be suited for my drumming. Center hit is nice, but there is so much mass moving that it becomes very difficult to be expressive. Update: I’ve swapped the head over to a steel Tama slp and cranked it up until it was table top right. And now it’s sounding more controlled. Get it tight and you’ll be alright! ... show more

  • Good snare head
Size: 14"
It took me a little while to get it adjusted and break it in but now it sounds really good. If you like hard rock or heavy metal, this is the right snare for you. It has a distinct pop sound which sounds very raw!

  • Great heads!
Size: 14"
5 star head. 2 ply with center dot. Coated. Very durable head. Great for rock/metal and heavy handed players. Never broke one and always use these on my 14x8.
