Description

Evans Heavyweight coated snare drumheads provide superior durability and a compressed attack, plus a wide dynamic range. Made using two plies of 10 mil film, Heavyweight snare drumheads are incredibly durable, with even more durability, focus, and attack in the center of the head, thanks to the 3mil reverse dot. With a nicely defined attack, short sustain, and semi-bright tonal character, Evans Heavyweight drumheads dampen most overtones and are excellent for heavy hitters in the rock and metal genres. This coated drumhead features Level 360 Technology and is available in 12”, 13”, and 14”.

  • It’s good, but not right for me.
Size: 14 Inch
Used this head on my DW acrylic snare drum. I must say the thickness and durability is there, but in order to get that LOUD, wet, crack snare hit, you have to hit HARD every time. The tone is thick, it’s almost too thick - sort of muffled. I love Evan’s heads and have been using them for a while now, for my kick/Toms as well but I’d have to say, the reverse dot is my favorite for snare drum head 14”. ... show more

  • Good for tuning small floor toms low.
Size: 14 Inch
Sounds great on a 14 inch floor tom that is hard to tune low. Plenty of tone now, we even can used a dampening ring.

  • It's very durable and it doesn't sound choked like you would think (because of the thickness)
Size: 13 Inch
This drum head is THE SNARE HEAD. It's very durable and it doesn't sound choked like you would think (because of the thickness). In fact, this drum head has a lot of crack! Ever since evans switched over to 360…the ST sounds choked to me, I tried this drum head and said my prayers and they were answered. Thank you Evans! Update: I was looking for a better snare drum head for a heavy hitter and can't find it. Drumeo has head comparisons that are great because you can hear what a good sounding snare drum will sound like with this head on it. I was looking at the genera hds, powercenters, and STs. This head still sounds the best to me out of them all. ... show more
