Description

Evans Black Chrome drum heads are ideal for the Rock/Metal/Progressive drummer who hits hard, plays fast and desires a new, attractive aesthetic with a punchy tone. Featuring a two-ply construction with a ply of 7mil optically clear film over a 7.5mil black film, Evans Black Chrome provides strong durability combined with a sleek mirror-like appearance and a robust tone. The combination of opposing films (two different types and thicknesses) shortens sustain and provides an accentuated mid-to-low frequency response. Evans Level 360 technology is incorporated to extend the level playing surface of the drumhead, 360 degrees around the drum. resulting in: ease of tuning, extended pitch range and optimum quality of sound. Evans Level 360 collar resolves the age-old dilemma of traditional synthetic heads consistently not fitting the drum shell without using considerable force.

  • Top quality and sound
Style: EC2 Tompack Clear
I've been playing drums for 35 years and these are my go to skins I love the sound quality and the extra layer with the oil in between For some reason this adds a nice deep tone and a real drum feel and sound you will not get super bounce out of these heads but you will get a beautiful tone and this is really an opinion that you will have to find out on Your own but once I gave these a try I fell in love with the feel and the tone. Also when I was younger I was a heavy banger I am now a much lighter touch but back then I would break pretty much any single skin head accept these because of the quality of the construction I believe. ... show more

  • Love them!
Style: Onyx 2-Ply Tompack Coated
I am a power drummer that is known for breaking gear. Heads don't last long for me but these are holding up extremely well. Love the sound ease of tuning and how tough they are! Awesome heads!

  • I should have switched to Evans years ago...
Style: G2 Tompack Coated
I threw these heads on hoping that it would offer a change but I wasn't prepared for just how amazing the toms would sound. In my pic, the second FT wasn't changed over but the two rack toms and first FT were as well as tuned low... Wow!!! I'm in love. It breathed life back into this old kit. I'm absolutely in love with the sound both live and for recording purposes. You can go wrong with these. ... show more

  • Great Sounding Heads!
I've been using the EC2 clear heads for about 3 yrs exclusively! Just for piece of mind, I tried many other types of Evans heads, and other brands as well, like Remo...and I kept coming back to the Evans EC2 clears. Now that Evans has the new 360 degree technology, they tune even easier and faster because they sit on the bearing edge more evenly, almost perfectly, and without any play. This allows me to put the head on the drum, then put my hoop on, finger tighten my tension rods, and then tune accordingly(about one turn each rod in a cross pattern, then about a half turn the second time around). You may prefer to tune a different way! These heads sound somewhat fat, with not too much sustain (just right), and just the right amount of attack! The sound I get is perfect for live as well a recording, and I must add I use Evans Genera Resonant heads on the bottom to get the sound I'm referring to. I recommend giving these a try and hear for yourself how great they sound, I'll bet you won't be disappointed. Even on lower end drums they will sound really good. I had a Tama Rock Star kit, used the Evans EC2 clear heads on the kit, and the kit sounded pretty darn good for a low end kit! ... show more

  • Ok
Style: Hydraulic Glass Tompack
I bought these on the recommendation of a YouTube video that suggested they sound great on acrylic drums. They're good but I like the EC2 better.

  • Sound Great
Style: G2 Tompack Coated
Bought the kit with crappy tom Pearl Heads. Put these on, tuned them with Tuner Bot and they sound amazing. I have them tuned for lower resonance because play in smaller spaces. The feel is excellent.
