Description

Utilizes a unique, 2-ply construction that combines a top layer of EVANS ShockWeave Mesh with an all new Snare Sim Technology, which transfers impact energy into sonic vibrations that mimic the crack and buzz of snare wire. Users can control the snare response through throwing their standard snare wires on or off. Free of snare wires, sympathetic snare buzz is eliminated, and the resonant head can be tuned within a wide range of snare body tones. With natural, acoustic tone and a more natural acoustic feel, EVANS dB enables drummers and educators to play and practice naturally, whenever and wherever they want. Gone are the days of worrying about annoying family and/or neighbors, or overpowering others in the room with their drums. For over 60 years, Evans has been an innovator in drumhead manufacturing and design. As the creator of the first synthetic drumhead and other revolutionary products such as EMAD, Hydraulics, and the UV1 series, Evans drumheads are designed with the intent of solving problems for drummers. Regarded for high quality and consistency all Evans drumheads are made in the USA and feature Level 360 Technology.

  • Low Volume!
Style: Rock Kit Size: 5-Pack
I was looking for a low volume option for home practice. Evans claims an 80% sound level reduction with these. That checks out. Yet, there is enough tone to get that real drum sound. The main thing for me is the feel of playing a full-on acoustic set without the volume. Practicing for hours on a electronic kit with hard rubber pads was hurting my wrists. These Evans heads allow for the right amount of rebound without being either too dead or too bouncy. Love the bass drum head! They hit the sweet spot for feel. Now I can practice without driving everyone out of the house. Coupled with low-volume cymbals, this is a winning setup. If there is one criticism, it is that this should be offered with 12" and 13" tom heads instead of 10" and 12". Fortunately, I am using a 4 piece setup. Bottom line... these are not cheap, but they are worth it. ... show more

  • Love these
Style: Rock Kit Size: 5-Pack
These are a great choice to bring drum volume down while keeping a good solid sound. I also changed out the cymbals with low volume. I am happy with the changes because now I can play without ear protection and annoying my family. I tried Evans muting pads and they were garbage. These actually sound like the drum should, just much quieter. I’m about to get a 14” for the new floor tom I have coming. Also want to mention the snare head sounds great, very close to a real snare, and you don’t need to use the chain below. The head gives the effect of the chain and it surprisingly sounds very similar. Only downside, the bounce back on these isn’t quite as strong as normal drum heads. It’s an acceptable loss to me though. I would definitely buy these again. I highly recommend these. ... show more

  • It's very quiet.
Style: 22 Inch Size: 1-Pack Bass
You get almost no bass drum sound - just beaters hitting the head. You could mod this for a trigger. You'll need to change all your drum heads if you want to to practice "normally."

  • Great sound
Style: 14 Inch Size: 1-Pack Snare
I like the sound of this head a lot but it didn't take long for the plastic that gives it the snare sound to start breaking...

  • These Are Great!
Style: Cymbal Kit Size: 4-Pack
I needed some low volume cymbals to keep the noise down for my neighbors and housemates and these are great. You can still clearly tell someone from within the house is playing drums, but the noise doesn't really bleed outside like it used to and also it's a much more pleasant experience for your housemates. Non low volume cymbals will still sound better than these, but they're pretty dang good. The 16in and 18in crashes have a nice sound with some sustain, the 20in ride sounds great and it's bell is fun to play with also a nice sound, and the hi hat's work and sound like most other hi hats. All in all, nothing extremely special but they sound good. These pair well with the Evans DB One drum heads too. I also definitely would use these for a low volume gig if needed. ... show more

  • Reduced Volume -vs- "Realistic" Feel
Style: Rock Kit Size: 5-Pack
I purchased these in December 2023. My first instinct was to buy DB Zeros for my kit but at the last minute I decided to get DB Ones instead. I should have gone with my instincts. Don't get me wrong, the DB Ones are not bad at all. The company's selling point is, the DB Ones have a more "realistic" feel than the DB Zeros and they do. However, the DB Ones still are not quiet enough for what I need. Subsequently, I replaced the Ones with Zeros and the Zeros are exactly what I'm looking for. So I'm not knocking the DB Ones, they do what they are designed to do. But I value better volume reduction of the DB Zeros even if their feel is not as realistic as the DB Ones. The Zeros are a bit bouncier than the Ones but the difference between the two is so small that I prioritize the better volume reduction of the Zeros over the feel of the Ones. So if you're looking for better volume control, go for the DB Zeros. However, if a more realistic feel is what you want, go for the DB Ones. ... show more

I don’t know how but these plastic strands under the mesh sound like a snare…kudos to the developers.

  • The bass drumhead broke after THREE SONGS!
Style: Rock Kit Size: 5-Pack
One of the things I try to do after all of these years of enjoying music and creating it… is treat myself to innovative and quality equipment from time to time. I saw a review from one of my favorite drummers - 66Samus on YouTube and he recommended this product so I was all in and placed an order immediately after watching his product review for these Evans low volume drumheads. Oh and before I blast off for the rant here… I only buy Evans drum heads. I’ve spent so much money in the last couple years buying the products and I’m happy to pay retail. This industry is such a hustle where real working drummers that pay the retail price for things deserve to have the products performing for them. Otherwise what is the point of paying full price when you only receive half the value? I’m so disappointed in this purchase. I’m baffled that a drum company that only does one thing, cannot get a bass drum head right… Evans drum company has a product that will reduce the volume out of a drum set. That’s a fantastic idea! Only the problem is, it’s almost as if they don’t even know how drummers mount their bass drum pedal to the bass drum and where the beaters actually strike the head. It is very rarely in the center of the base trim head. This ridiculous product presents itself like a “bull’s-eye” if you will. In the center of the bull’s-eye target, there is a large circle with a reinforced power dot for where the center of the drum would be struck with a beater. This material is different than is on the tom heads. it is a shiny black decal that would make you believe that this material would present itself with attack from the bass drum beater striking the head, but the rest of the technology around the center would minimize the volume. It’s a great concept as I’ve mentioned! Only drummers do not strike the center of the head… And that’s the problem. So you can tell that I’m not 100% on this drum cover because I can’t really land on the “one” of every measure because I’m second-guessing my playing And wondering if my foot is going to go through this bass drum so quickly. I just installed this on my kit two days ago and it’s disgusting in every way.. I believe I play with a moderate attack and have never broken a bass drum head in my life. Rock music requires energy, that’s for sure. But I was really just testing these out while playing a song that’s fun to get around the kit on. As you can see, in this video I am using all low-volume equipment. Everything is working. I even have the cymbals from overseas to save money and really to experiment here. I’ve never purchased low-volume equipment and it’s sad that the American made products from Evans drum company are the ones that fail before the Chinese low-volume cymbals. It’s disgusting actually. This dovetails with a drum manufacturer that I tried to buy custom drums from in United States recently. That was also a failure. So I had to go overseas and pay extra. And I’m happy to pay extra for quality. It’s offensive that a company has this beautiful packaging and a slick looking product, and it starts to fall apart after 10 minutes of usage. American manufacturers complain about the economy, costs for raw materials, transportation, etc. The cost for equipment, is never a problem for me. I enjoy spending an amount of money that matches value. But when that doesn’t happen, it’s beyond offensive. I cannot believe this drum company did not test this product. If you can’t make a quality product, you don’t deserve any business. This bass drum is disgusting that it fell apart after three songs of playing it. It’s ridiculous beyond words. Here’s the full name of the product to avoid at all costs: Evans Drum Heads - dB Rock Pack (10" 12" 16") with 14" dB Snare Batter and 22" dB Bass Batter So if you made it this far, what is the solution you might ask? The answer is to get a very cheap mesh bass drum head and fill your bass drum with pillows. Then get one of those attack decals and apply it in the exact position where the bass drum beaters will strike the mesh head. I’ll bet my life that you will be placing that drumhead protecting decal NOT in the center of the head. Although the Evans drumhead company would want you to alter your playing to make up for their inferior and flawed product. avoid this product like the plague. You’ll not only waste a ton of time taking your kit apart and dialing in a bass drum with the hopes of this slick looking product sounding as good as it looks or performing as good as it looks. This is the worst drum product I’ve purchased in over 30 years of playing the drum set. Absolutely pure garbage. ... show more
