I usually don't write to many reviews but I'm making an exception on this shaver because I think it's a very good product, I purchased this shaver a little over 2 years ago and it is still doing very well, I have used this shaver every other day over those 2 years, and I'm impressed that it's still working almost( I say almost because you have to expect some diminishment for wear and tear ) as good as day one, the battery still holds a good charge and the blades still cut as they should, at first I only charged once a month now I get 3 weeks before recharging again, the blades still cut good but now they pull the hair a little so I'm thinking of replacing the head, other than that a very good shaver and I recommend it to be a good purchase, I would buy again ... show more

I was a little unsure of getting this product, but at $60 it was a steal. I was also very pleasantly surprised by its efficient and close shave. This is the first rotary shaver designed for skull shaving that I have owned as I have always used a foil shaver before. Although my Braun foil shavers, currently Series 7, give a far closer and longer lasting shave, this product is very quick and conveniently shaped to give a very reasonably close shave of a skull. The couple of caveats I mentioned were; Firstly the razor sometimes wont start up when pushing the on button. Usually after cleaning and replacing the shave heads. The only way to get it reset is to plug in and take out the power cord briefly and start the motors spinning while reseating the shaveheads. Secondly; which is more of a nitpick than anything, the cleaning of the shavehead is a bit fiddly with the razored hair lodging under the frame, and after lubrication, gets clogged up and sticky, which makes removing it even with running water a little challenging, but a little perseverance and deep brushing can generally clean it out satisfactorily. I think 5 blades may be overkill as the center cutter seems to do the most work and the outer blades are a little redundant. I will probably try a 4 head shaver if I replace this with another dedicated head shaver or just mover to a Braun Series 9, for an all over shaver. I would just like to add that the battery life seems to be a little short for the amount of charge as one charge only lasts 4 skull shaves, before a recharge is required. I haven't timed my shaving, but I am sure they are no longer than 2 1/2 minutes. So I would guess from a full charge the battery duration is about 10 minutes, which seems a little short for a Lithium Ion battery. Overall, a good purchase and good value for money with relatively inexpensive replacement heads from a renown manufacturer for a quick and reasonably close skull shave. ... show more

I get a great shave and it's faster than my old Phillips trifoil. I shave my head every 3-4 days and it handles my hair flawlessly. I went 7 days once and it strained, but did it without draining the battery all the way. I use preshave liquid and don't get any razor burn. Pretty good battery and charge time, more than I need. Comfortable grip. Great weight. Good value. Only downside is cleaning. It's not horrible, but takes longer than my old trifoil. That said - I still feel that this is a solid purchase and would recommend to friends. 10/10 would buy again! ... show more

This is my third shaver. I've shaved my head since high school (30+ years ago), but I'm lazy. The past year I decided to try one of these to do a quick once over every day and not have to shave so often. The other two were complete garbage, lasted about a week, and didn't do a good job. This one was better, although that is damning with faint praise. First, one of my absolute pet peeves, it uses a non-standard charger for no apparent reason. If you lose it, or your dog chews it, or whatever, you are out of luck. Not a big problem if this is the only electric device in your house, but digging through my box of chargers to find the right one is no fun. Second, you look at the picture and see the multiple heads and think they'll bend to the shape of your head and make things faster. But, no. Very rarely two of them are making contact at a time, usually just one. If you do a quick pass, you'll be leaving tons of streaks of cut and uncut hair. And having those multiple heads gets in the way while you are trying to angle the shaver to only try to use one head. Luckily, the streaks aren't all that noticeable. Because, if you don't use it every day or two, it just won't cut your hair at all. So, it isn't like you've got much hair to remain uncut and form visible streaks - you have to go by feel. Cleaning it is o.k. The cheaper shavers you'd just pop the head guard off and rinse with water and it was done. This one, you really need to use the tiny little brush to get the old hair out. That starts to take some time. Maybe the most annoying thing is the power button or the electronics randomly stop working. I've never had this happen during a shave, luckily, but after cleaning it, you leave it disassembled to dry out. I wanted something to just run over my head every morning, but at least once a week, I hit the power button and nothing happens. No matter what, I can't get it to work. So, I end up putting it on the charger, thinking maybe I left it on overnight or something. But within like five minutes it shows full charge, so that isn't it. I usually charge it for an hour and it'll work the next time I use it. But, by that time I've started work or left the house to do something, and end up skipping the day. See above about what happens when you skip a day. In the end, I still use it when it works, but I'm still shaving with a razor once or twice a week, and I'm not sure it is saving any time, and it definitely isn't nearly as smooth as a razor. Which doesn't bother me, it is close enough, but if I'm going to spend the same amount of time doing it, might as well get it smooth. Who knows, I may have gotten a bad one with the power switch, but all of the other problems remain. I'd still pick this one over the ones that cost half as much, just because it is still limping along after two months, which seems to be a record for me. But, this is likely the end of my experimentation with a shaver instead of a razor once this one dies. ... show more
