After having recently cleaned tile floors with a floor doctor, they were in pretty good shape. But a drooly dog and inevitable spills made some new messes. This took care of all of that. This mop is really effective in the kitchen and bathrooms, and it is quick to heat up and use. Went through the whole house in very little time, and the 4 provided pads all got some use. It cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes without any strong chemicals. It's very slow at cleaning grout, but good for floor maintenance. The floors get really clean with no residue. It's also quick to dry the floors, quicker than a floor doctor. But obviously there is an extra vacuuming step beforehand. For big areas it takes more time than a larger cleaner might, but it gets into corners and gaps that other cleaners can't. Some of the floor smells end up in the pads, and they get pretty saturated with water and dirt. The pads say hand wash only but the instructions say machine wash. I can't imagine hand washing these pads, they get pretty nasty and a washer does a good job at cleaning them. I washed them like a microfiber (cold water wash and low temperature dry), and they smelled better than new (got rid of that original shipping odor). They are not really a microfiber but more of a twisted fiber weave with a poly foam backing. ... show more

Bought this to better clean my household floors, hardwood and tile. So far it has done what it said it would do. While it is easy to maneuver into some areas, cleaning close to walls and thresholds still needs to be done by hand. The Steamboy Pro 300CU is built slender for easy storage, but due to its overall small base, it tends to have difficulties remaining in an upright stance by itself. This still does not detract from the fact that it provides a solid amount of heated steam every 5 seconds to clean the floor better than most other methods. I think it is very advisable to purchase several extra cleaning pads so that they can be swapped out as you clean. Pads are very easy to clean and can be put in the washer. This does an excellent job on tile, although I wish it had a bigger scrubbing head. The Steamboy also works well to clean hardwood steps. Have no idea of how it works on rugs, as I have a carpet cleaner for that purpose. ... show more

Water leaked from the water reservoir when the mop was standing still - and water kept on leaking after water bottle was removed. After using the steam mop, had to use a regular mop to dry the floor since water was leaking - and the pad didn't get very hot. There is steam only when the lever on the handle is pressed. From reviews I read before I ordered, I am assuming the mop is defective and am returning it. While it ships from Amazon, it is sold by a third party - and should that third party determine that the return is not a manufacturing issue, a restocking fee of 10 to 20% and the cost of return (USD $28.39) will be deducted from the refund. When ordering with Amazon Prime, be aware that if the item ships from Amazon but is sold by another entity, that entity determines how the return is handled. I took it for granted that using Amazon Prime would ensure that I would not be charged for returning an item and only received a return label after contacting Amazon customer support, since the seller originally indicated I had to self ship. ... show more

I bought this steam mop because it seemed like my floors were never clean enough. We also moved into a large apartment that is mostly plank flooring and there was discoloration and paint splotches from prior residents. Well, low and behold when we started steaming and scrubbing these floors (with the tile attachment) our textured looking floors were actually caked with dirt, and that discoloration was actually the few spots that were clean. This is my second one, I like the product but I paid for a new one. This one came used as you can see in the picture there was water droplets in the reservoir when I put it together. Seems to work ok. But used products should not be sold as new!

I haven't owned the steam mop for very long but I've now used it 5 times. Mop does as stated and floors dry quickly. Most steam mops or steam canisters will drop and a little bit of water on the floor but this model keeps it to a minimum. Easy to hold and push back and forth. I only use distilled water so the filter doesn't really matter to me. It's very difficult to find a decent steam mop anymore. I had to buy this and get rid of my Karcher SC3 as it was leaking everywhere. ... show more
