Welcome to Recycling Rules! We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping you start or enhance a recycling program. This recycling bin is a customer favorite and our best-selling bin. It's perfect for collecting recyclables in a kitchen and fits nicely under most sinks, in a utility room, a garage or by a desk. When full its sturdy handle makes it easy to carry to a central recycling dumpster or to take to your recycling center. Many apt. and condo residents find this bin a must. Great for schools, offices, and churches too! Its nontraditional shape helps keep trash out and recycling in. Watch your recycling participation rate soar. An ingenious design allows the handle to fold down and allows multiple bins to stack, one on top of another. Perfect for those environments where recyclables still need to be separated. You can create a "recycling tower" for glass, metal, aluminum, plastic, paper, plastic bags, Styrofoam batteries, etc. Made in North America with a minimum of 35% recycled content. Bin measures 13.5" tall (handle folded down), 10.5" wide and 14.25" deep. Measure carefully! Capacity is 6 gallons (assuming that it could hold water up to the top). These are perfect for our needs. Most of the negative reviews I've read about these are that they are not big enough. I don't feel that it's fare to give a poor review based on people's personal size requirements and in not carefully reviewing the size they need prior to purchase. I live in a small mountain town without home recycle pickup and our only recycling center recently changed their policy to not allow sorting at their facility. We now need to have everything sorted when we bring it in to recycle, so we have six 32 gallon bins along our side yard that we dump these 6 gallon bins into. When the 32 gallon bins get full we take them to our recycling center. It saves us a lot of time from having to go back and forth to our recycling center with only 6 gallons of recyclables per type. Once two or three of our 32 gallon bins get full we take them in so that we can easily fit them in the back of our small SUV. I also like the company that makes these. I had a delightful response from their customer service when I accidentally did not order enough and needed to purchase more. They let me cancel my order and increase my bundle in order to save money from purchasing a couple more individually. They are also planning to make stickers to go on their bins for everyone's recycling types needed. We don't need stickers since we have a label maker. The standard labels from our label maker fit perfectly on the top lip of the bins so that they can easily be seen from above even when the bins are stacked. For our needs these bins are the perfect size. They don't get too heavy even when filled to the top with glass. Anything bigger and it would be trouble for my partner to carry them due to back problems. I also really like the way they stack in and out of use. We have four of them stacked along one cabinet in our kitchen, and two more stacked along another, narrower cabinet, allowing them all to fit perfectly in the space we have available for them. I would purchase these again and recommend them to anyone that needs to sort their recyclables. I could also find these useful for hobby and craft purposes. ... show more

I'm giving it 5 stars all around even though I have some thoughts about it. I'll list my initial con and then rebuke myself and explain why it's 5 stars IMO. The bins are fairly small, but you get 6 of them to sort your recycling so the total volume is actually more than a single large bin. I end up filing up my aluminum and glass bin WAY faster than the other bins and since they're smaller I feel like I need to run to the dump more often. This leads to aluminum and glass ending up in the cardboard and plastic bins until all 6 are full before I run to the dump, but it's not so bad, it's still mostly sorted when I get there and the bins are small enough that you hardly spend any extra time sorting at the dump. I've mentioned a couple times that the bins are small, but they're stackable and also nestable when empty. This means I can have 6 different recycling bins tucked in the back of my pantry in the kitchen behind the garbage instead of going out to the driveway anytime we want to recycle. I also don't have to drag a big full bin from inside downstairs and sort it outside. I can easily carry 4 bins all at once and toss them in the back of the car on my way to work. The price was a little high, but they are small enough to use in the kitchen but big enough to still be useful. They all match and look nice, neat and tidy instead of some home brew solution. Strong plastic withstands abuse, easily hosed out. Stackable depending on the handle position. Nestable when empty for easy storage or transportation. Relativity big upfront cost compared to city recycling with free bins and pickup, but well worth the expenditure in the long run in hindsight. ... show more

I recently moved from an area with curbside recycling to a situation where I have to haul my recycling to three separate locations, and the main location requires presorting of the items they do take. My first system was a frustrating failure. Finally, I bought bins (that haul nicely in my Bronco Sport without falling over). The stickers are the piece de résistance to keep me (and family and friends) on track with the presort. I looked at a lot of different sticker options before purchasing these. I like the colors, they are just the right size and are easily readable, and they have a coating-type finish, so I think they will be durable.
