  • Great For Calm Days Or V.E.R.Y. Light Breeze
I have worked in the aviation industry for more than 45 years so it was a natural that my grandson would love this RC Jet Plane. We reviewed the supplied instructions while we charged up the batteries. Once they were fully charged, he took to this plane like a fish takes to water. Our first venture with the RC Jet Plane was early morning, about 8am and the wind was calm. The advertisement states "20MPH", but the way the jet darted about it certainly looked much faster. We flew it in an area about 3 acres and did figure 8 flights to get accustomed to the controls. We exhausted all 3 batteries in about an hour and headed indoors to recharge them. When we returned later the winds had changed and they tossed the plane around, making it much harder to control. When we turned the airplane into the wind it would cause the nose to pitch up 'violently' and flip completely over. It was high enough to recover without crashing, but we couldn't ever get it to return to where it took off from. Flying with a cross wind it wouldn't fly a straight line and got blown off course easily. We flew it once more later that day, about an hour before dark when the wind had calmed down again and it flew beautifully and the LED lights in the wings really stood out. We didn't have a smooth place to try and land the plane so we just flew it along the edge of my pasture where the grass is about 3' tall and just stalled it out to a soft 'controlled crash' landing in the grass. We flew it over 100' altitude and about 100yds away and the controls operated as expected. It turns and banks like a real plane and really zips around through figure 8 circuits and around a big maple tree. Other than trying to fly during the windy portion of the day, flying this was a lot of fun. The RC Jet Plane is easy to assemble and easily withstood the treatment we gave it. It seems reasonably tough and rugged, but hard crashes or clipping a tree branch or hitting an immovable object is certainly going to do some damage. Having 3 batteries is a real plus since you can fly the plane for an extended period of time. You get an extra set of propellers, but you'll probably be wishing for more once those are eliminated. With no apparent place to get additional replacement propellers, the fun of the plane is going to be limited to preserving them. Once they are damaged and no longer useful, this toy will become a static display in my grandsons room. It would be nice if more propellers were included in the kit since they are the weak link in how long the plane will be a viable toy. It would also be useful if AKARGOL provided an option to get more propellers. Even checking the link to their store didn't reveal any options for more. On a calm day, this AKARGOL RC Jet Plane is a lot of fun. It flies in a pretty realistic fashion and really tears across the sky. The range is pretty good though we never tried to see how far that was, but over 100' high and 2-300 feet away and it always followed the control inputs. Flying at dusk was pretty cool with the LED lights letting you see all of the action. And it's fast. It really darts around. Other than the weak link of the propellers, this toy plane has a lot of potential. The asking price is right in line with similar drones and RC planes. My grandson and I had a blast flying this around, but as much fun as it was, busting a couple of propellors will make this a dust collector on a shelf with a cool story of how much fun it used to be. More propellors AKARGOL. We are going to need more propellors and considering how easily more of them could be added to the kit for just a few cents more, not including them seems like a bit of an oversight. ... show more

  • Not the best quality
I was not at all impressed with the quality of this rc jet the body is like a foam rubber material and the nose cone is a very thin piece of rubber that just slides onto the front of the jet and it tends to fall off easy, the landing gear (wheels) are plastic and attached to a thin metal pin that slides into the bottom of body, they are more for show than anything because they don't hold up very well when trying to land, there are also 2 led light strips that you can stick to the underside of the wings, they do give the jet a cool look, as far flying goes it does fly but it is a little tricky to keep it airborne, it also came with 3 batteries and you get close to 8 minutes or so per battery, overall it does fly, I just wish it was made with a better quality for the price. ... show more

  • Durability issues
I like the looks of it. The green led's are a nice touch for evening flight. It's easy to control and would be great for kids. One issue is the landing gear doesn't have the best attachment. On the first flight I landed in the grass and two of the wheels fell off. I was able to find one but the other is gone. The rudders also have a tendency to pop off. I do like the rubber nose cone though. It protects the front and stays on no matter what. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble and operate
This RC airplane is very easy to assemble. Just install the radar cover, tail wings, and the wheel then it's ready to take off. The best part is that there are multiple batteries included that makes the playing experience much better and last longer. The plane itself is also very light weighted, so this makes it easy to take off but not good during windy days. ... show more

  • Cheap
It works off and on but it goes too high and caught in the wind. The first use the fin broke off. It's too light to fly in any kind of wind. Good for beginners to learn but it will break. You can see the broken fin in a few of the photos.

  • Great fun for all ages
We enjoyed this plane. Wheels broke off the first day though.

  • Cheaply made
What a disappoint this plane is. It is poor quality workmanship and low end parts all around. The plane has a plasticky foamy feel. I realize it needs to be light to fly but this is ridiculous. The seams where the material meshes together stick out, the wheels are for looks only because they certainly aren't sturdy enough to land the plane on. The nose cone is a cheap piece of flimsy rubber that won't even stay on. Do not waste your money on this one, it's not worth it. ... show more
