My kids love playing with this race car. My daughter even made a jump with floor mats to drive it off of. The remote contoller is made to look like an old PlayStation contoller. One of the top buttons makes the car roll up into a ball while the other is a dummy button. UPDATE: The remote control stopped working. Ordered August 28 and no more fun 8( I'm so sad - my dog really loves this car. I have no idea why the remote stopped working. It was kept on a shelf next to the router and nothing touched it up there. I changed batteries today and pressed one button and it won't un-press. Nevertheless there is nothing is happening - no sound, no control, no balling up or un-balling. I wish the remote was rechargeable like the car. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This car is so much fun, I cannot even believe it. Usually the sales videos are made to look super fun and super cool and then you get the product home and it is way less than expected. Not with this car. I have a tripawd dog, and the thing about dogs with only three legs is that they are prone to extension injuries in their remaining limb from pushing too hard. One of the tricks to give them physical exercise without injury is to mentally stimulate them. Well, for the most part, those toys involve some type of treat. Because they have limited mobility, though (and almost always arthritis in the remaining limb), they tend to pack on the pounds. I came up with the idea of using the natural chase instinct and using toddler toys, like friction cars, to give my dog exercise and mental stimulation without overdoing it. That began to include remote control cars. Because my dog is large (91-pounds) he will bit whatever he catches, so friction cars and remote control cars - even balls, need to be able to take a pounding. This car does! It soars across the floor, the ramp, and the porch - leaving Benji pleasantly tired out. The car does not go anywhere on grass and can get hung up if it crosses a cord. The car came ready to go straight out of the box - I have not needed to recharge a single time, but it's great to have a standby battery so the fun doesn't stop. I will say that this car takes some getting used to- and I ran into myself more than one time, which actually hurt because of the speed the car was travelling. Definitely something to consider if you have kids, but not something to dissuade the purchase. This car is too much fun. I clicked the button to turn it into a ball and it fell over. This was so funny because I un-balled it and re-balled it until it corrected itself like a turtle. The car looked like it was having a small fit. But that amped my dog up, so he barked and barked at it (he hilariously loves the sound of his own bark). Benji hung back to wait for the car to fix itself, and once it was back right-side up, the chase was on. I crashed. A lot. I backed up, went forward, dropped it off the accessibility ramp outside; this beast of a car just kept going. We are having so much fun. If you have a dog, a kid, or just want to have some unexpected fun, this car is definitely the one to get. ... show more

Overall this is a pretty nice little RC car. It certainly not the best, or the fastest, out there... But for the price point I think it's a pretty good buy. It looks cool, and I think younger kids will really have a blast with it. It seems to be pretty durable, and it's survived quite a bit of abuse so far and is still going strong. The battery life is pretty good, and I love that it comes with a spare... So you can always have one charging and you can extend your play time. The LED light bar is pretty cool and it definitely adds to the wow factor of the car. I found that it'll rip pretty good down the driveway, or on hard surfaces, but it tends to get a little bogged down in the grass. Ultimately I don't like this is a huge issue, and is about what I would expect for an RC car at this price. I'd say this one is more for younger kids, or for beginners... If you're looking for something super fast, this might not be the one for you. I think it's a good buy since it's affordable and it's a lot of fun. I'd buy it again. ... show more
