I have mixed feelings about this RC car. While the design is eye-catching and looks great both on and off the road, it lacks the power needed to be a great off-roader. The all-terrain capabilities are limited due to the car's lack of power, and it struggles to climb steep inclines or handle rough terrain. Another downside is that the car does not come with a rechargeable battery, and instead requires 6 AA batteries to operate. I would recommend buying some rechargeable batteries otherwise this could get really expensive. For the price point, I would have liked to see an included rechargeable battery for the truck like others come with.

    • Looks cool, but doesn't have much oomph.
This is a nice looking model. Big tires and cool suspension. Looks like it would be great on rough terrain... yeah not so much. Certainly couldn't handle grass or a little debris across the sidewalk. I first loaded it with rechargable batteries and thought that maybe the mediocre performance was because of the batteries, but I reloaded it with fresh batteries and there was no change in performance. On the positive side, the controller works well, and the adjustment for correcting steering angle works nicely. Another thing I didn't care for was the car battery compartment. It was kind of tricky to open and close. It worked best if the screw was completely removed. Anyway... overall this car looks good and performs well on perfectly flat surfaces. ... show more

This may be ok for really little kids since it's not fast or powerful. It runs on AA batteries. The radio also broadcasts at 27mhz. AA's and 27mhz are what most toys used in the 90's. Modern rc's run on rechargeable lipos or li-ions and 2.4ghz. The old style receivers could pick up lots of interference and had a tendency to cause runaways. The shocks have less than .5 inches of travel and it is rear wheel drive so it's not really for off road. It's very slow with very little power so don't try to drive it on sand. I really think there are many better options out there for this price point. ... show more

    • Basic RC car--like the ones we played with in the 90's.
If that 1990's nostalgia has got you searching for a very simple, 27 MHz, spring suspension, plastic RC car with pointless decals slapped on, well then congratulations my friend--you have arrived. This is a simple and inexpensive RC car. It is not super high quality nor will it last for years and years. It's also on 27 MHz so it will pick up a little interference from random radio signals, and anyone else with a 27 MHz remote who is in range can make it entirely impossible to drive the thing (remember that frustration when you and your friend both had cars on the same frequency so you couldn't race them?). But that's the beauty of this--it's basically 1993 all over again. The only thing it lacks is a long thin whip antenna with multiple kinks in it. So crank up that Ace of Base and Spin Doctors and get ready to lay down some rubber on the sidewalk to the screeching sound of plastic gears being spun faster than they want to go . If you're looking for an RC car to show off to your friends, this probably isn't it. But if you're looking for an RC car that your kid can enjoy for a couple of years, and then you can throw in the garbage and never think about again, well this might just be what you're looking for. ... show more
