Top Amazon Reviews

  • Sturdy, functional, chic and worth the price
There are very few occasions when I feel the need to actually take the time to sit down and do a quality review of a product because I like it (or dislike it) that much. This is one of those occasions. I. Love. This. Product. I love it. I have not owned a bicycle in years (I learned that adults can't say "bike" or people think you bought a motorcycle). Since this lovely global pandemic of viral illness shut down society, I've been home more than I have ever been in my entire life; I desperately needed a bike just to get out and have something to do. So, a few hundred dollars later and suddenly I had a new bike sitting in the middle of my very small one-bedroom apartment, and absolutely no idea where I would put it. I needed a product that could store the bike in such a way that would make it easily accessible while also out of the way and somewhat inconspicuous: I didn't want my little living room to feel like a storage closet. So I researched and tried one rack that was designed to lean against the wall. First, I had to decide where I would lean it: I have a lot of artwork that decorates the walls. I had to take down a large print and figure out where to relocate it. The rack turned out to be so flimsy and cheaply made that I wasn't even confident stepping away from my bike after placing it on the rack, which bent and seemed to strain underneath a mere 35 pounds of bike. Further, that piece of junk left scuffs on the walls and made me add the Magic Eraser to my next shopping list. But that's a review for another day. I returned the rack and bought this one. This rack, the RaxGo Free-Standing Bike Rack, was a total delight compared to the other rack I tried. In fact, I am completely satisfied, thrilled with this purchase. It has earned the five stars I'm leaving here; it was worth every penny. Take a look at the photo: the RaxGo Bike Storage Rack does not lean against the wall, so that beautiful view of Manhattan can stay right where it is! The rack is very sturdy; the manufacturer's posted weight limit is 90 lbs., or 45 per bike, but truthfully it could probably hold much more than that. It is designed for a maximum of two (2) bikes; the manufacturer advises to not attempt to place more than two bikes on the rack. Nowhere in the instructions does it suggest that a bike can be hung vertically (as mine is, in the photo), but the bike is suspended very naturally this way—there is no wobbling or uncertainty. The bike is very secure, and this positioning works best for my space. My one complaint with this product is its assembly. I am very good with tools and putting things together, but I found the instructions to be oversimplified and very unhelpful. To construct the rack, you require a 10mm ratchet; there is no way around it. That is something that really ought to be announced on the box but it was on PAGE 5 of the instructions that this tool is required. I had to go to the store and buy a basic ratchet with that size to finish the work. While handling the parts, I had to backtrack and correct pieces that I accidentally put on backwards because the images in the instructions are so poor. However, once the rack was finished, I was so impressed and pleased with how this rack secures and presents my bike that I do not deduct that fifth star over the frustrations of assembly. The other small concern is the handles that tighten the arms which support the weight of the bike: while the arms are steel, the handles to tighten the bolts that secure the arms are actually plastic. I would take care not to needlessly over-tighten, as I imagine the handles could crack. (Should the handle ever break, it would not cause the bike to fall—it would just be very annoying, as a wrench or screwdriver would then be needed to tighten and loosen the bolt.) But because there is no need for frequent loosening and tightening once you have the height adjusted for your bike, it should be fine. Overall, this is an awesome product that performs well, should last a long time, and is well worth the asking price. I highly recommend the RaxGo rack for your bike storage needs. ... show more

  • UPDATE:Thank you Jasmine (Customer Support) 🖐 you solved my problem. Thank you.
UPDATE: I originally gave low stars because I had a problem with one tiny little part ( screw in leg). I called Customer Support, spoke to Jasmine and she explained why the messaging center was taking calls and was happy to help anyway so could. I explained my orginal problem, my low star evaluation and that I had gone to local hardware centers to get a screw in leg but none had anything to replace it. As we spoke Jasmine was entering the info into the system promised to take care of the problem. If, the manufacturer couldn't supply the leg then they would just replace the whole unit with no extra trouble of returning the item. Well to my delight today is September 18, 2021, my initial cammed was September 13, 2021 and I received a complete set of legs for my RAXGO BIKE RACK. AS PROMISE A BIG HIGH FIVE TO JASMINE 🖐. She knows how to interact with her Customer base. She listened to my complaint. She initiated an immediate response to solve the problem. I highly recommend this company and am looking forward to getting bikes up on the rack. 🙂👍❤ I ordered and received the RAXGO bicycle rack August 29, 2021 yet decided to wait until Labor Day to open and assemble the rack. Looks strudy, well packaged, all parts as listed are in box great. However, once I began the assembly process to screw in legs to the frame I ran into a problem. There are 4 legs and 4 places to screw legs into... I'm excited 😊 but 🙁 problem 3 legs screw in nicely 1 leg screw turns about 2 turns then sticks so I remove one by one testing the one problem leg in each opening on the frame and to no avail. The offending leg has a manufacturing problem. I So, rather than messing around with contacting the company through Amazon because it's Labor Day I go to Ace Hardware, they couldn't help, Menard they didn't have thing to fit, Lowell's to no avail. I call the company no help it's Labor Day. I leave a message on their messaging service... 🤨 no return call the following day. So, decided to call once again September 8, 2021 and messaging said it's a holiday not open. The product as far as sturdiness, it does look very sturdy. IT looks well made but looks and knowing, well if I can't get the product assembled first start, no response per my message to the company, running to several stores that should beable to have one simple little screw ugh 😒 I'll never know. Should the something change and I hear from a representative from the company willing to help me out I'll give a better review because I hate giving negative reviews especially when there is a simple fix...1. Answer the messaging 2. Do quality control to ensure all parts function and fit right for customer assembly. I don't have a problem paying for the leg screw all my sources said it's less than a dollar to fix or just add 1 extra le screw to your packaing for such an unforeseen event. You're the only place it seems that I can turn to 🤪🥺 help. ... show more

  • Very Functional, but a couple of manufacturing flaws
I was looking for a bike rack to get both of my bikes off the ground. I didn't want my tires/rims touching the ground or stressed by using the rims on hooks. This rack fit the bill. Assembly is easy, especially if you have a 10mm ratchet wrench. But as others stated, make sure you have the right a left brackets correct. I downgraded the sturdiness by 1/2 star because although all the nuts are welded to the bracket, one of them holding the left angled support brace to the base leg broke free before I could tighten it (see photo), so now there is a bit of a wobble. The design: I like the engineering design, it minimizes the used floor space, if not for the broken nut I think the rack would be very stable. The cross bars on my bikes are angled and wide, they just fit on the rack. Rubber cradles are provided to prevent scratching the paint on your bike, great idea. I took another half point off for the finish of the support columns, there is a considerable amount poorly painted area were rust is already present. Some of you might have taken more points off for these hardware defects, so your mileage may vary. I will get a large metal screw to repair the broken nut/bolt and sand/paint the rust areas. If I had bought it in town I would have exchanged it, but mailing the whole thing back for an exchange is too much of a hassle. In conclusion, I like the design and hope it works out, but there are flaws. ... show more

  • Perfect space saver for apartment/small room.
Overall, great bike rack for saving space! Assembly was straight forward, material is durable, and it holds bikes just like it claims! Setting up the location of the arms would be easier with two people, but can be done with one. You'll need to get creative with placement on more modern frame shapes. ... show more
