I am using these combined with a digital electrical timer. The Rainpoint faucet timer is timed to start at the same time as the digital timer for the sprinkler pump. The Rainpoint faucet runs for 2 minutes to supply water to prime the sprinkler pump and then the sprinkler pump runs up to 1 1/2 hrs or until the water supply is emptied. These faucet timer are very easy to program. I am using two of the three available programs so I can run them twice a day to sprinkle the lawn with captured rain water. Another great feature is the manual activation which will initiate the faucet for up to 9 minutes without any additional program. I have used this when I need to run a test of the system. I like the idea of being able to have 3 different programs. I also like the option to program specific days which is the main reason I got this timer. The programming and operation is very easy. Installation was simple and no leaks. The only downside is that manual operation only allows 10 minutes. It would be better to allow a manual time as long as the automatic time limit. ... show more

I have owned several timers over the years and this is the first time I’ve had any trouble with a timer. I ordered 2 from this seller and neither worked. I called support and they were helpful and sent me a replacement and it didn’t work. The support person said it was an internal problem and it was not something that could be fixed. I found out these timers were under warranty and reported to the seller I was having problems with the timer leaking and not functioning correctly. They contacted me quickly and offered me a replacement since the timers I had ordered were no longer available. They sent me two new timers and both are working properly. I can understand having issues with a problem but this seller definitely did everything possible to make things right and provide a helpful solution. ... show more

    • I'm blissed out with it's almost perfection
Our city has mandated watering restrictions quite awhile ago and I've been making-do with my old watering timer. Well I finally got sick of running outside to turn it off on the wrong days, turn it on for the right days and watering in a deep, dark of night because I missed watering when I was supposed to. I've been on a quest for a single outlet timer that lets me program for watering on Tues & Thurs only without costing a fortune and that doesn't require a Phd in Pure Math to program. This is the one! A couple of small design flaws I'd love to see fixed: -To water on Manual the button is not very responsive. Maybe I'll get used to it. -Upon first installing, I didn't run it immediately. My error. When I came outside the next day there was a huge puddle underneath. I had to turn off the water and apply a shocking amount of plumbers' tape to the hose bib then re-attach. Funny, my old timer didn't leak a drop on the same bib. -I'm not a fan of this particular type of battery cover. Although it does a good job of being water-tight, the ergonomics are abysmal. Note that there are no specific instructions on HOW to remove the battery cover. That's because there is no optimal way to remove this cover without self-injury, damaging the cover or gradually compromising the water-tightness. In any case, it's good to save water anyway you can. Did you know that only 3% of the global water supply is fresh water and only 1% of that is drinking water?!! Yikes. ... show more

The product looked like the box had been opened. Directions were essentially nonexistent. We got a warning when dialing customer service that the number was "potential spam". An agent was supposed to call us back....nope. So we tried YouTubefor instructions. Long and short was that even when the unit was manually shut off, water was still pouring through two small holes in the unit. So what good is this. Might as well leave the faucet on 24/7! ... show more

Ok, so it’s nothing revolutionary - it’s a decently priced hose timer. Cool. But if you need to switch between a timed cycle(s) and manual watering, definitely find something else. There is a hard time limit - cannot be changed - for manual watering of 10 minutes. This just isn’t sufficient for anything. ... show more
