I recently upgraded from the 2 port and I couldn't be happier with my purchase! As a long-time user of RainPoint products, they have lasted much longer than other big box brands. Installation and Setup: The 4 port timer does require a metal support brace so it will require some tools to drill into the exterior of the building, not a problem in my brick facade. Otherwise installation is a snap - literally screw onto the faucet, screw on hoses and you're done. Versatile and Efficient: With four separate ports, I can now manage different watering zones in my lawn independently. The ability to set different start times and durations for each zone ensures that everything gets the right amount of water. Reliable Performance: Just like my previous RainPoint timer, this model delivers reliable performance. The construction is sturdy, and it has proven to be weather-resistant, standing up to the elements without any issues. I have not experienced any leaks when using the proper hose washers. Minor Annoyances: 4 stars for the UI because it could use some improvements: The interface for starting zone(s) manually takes a few more button presses than the 2 port version. Increasing the manual run time it doesn't speed up the longer the button is pressed - so it takes time to get from 10 minutes to 1 hour. Again - a minor annoyance but doesn't detract from the overall quality. In summary, the RainPoint 4 Port Hose Timer is a fantastic upgrade from the 2 port version. I set up an irrigation system in my garden with the idea to only water certain areas at different times and for different durations. This timer fit my needs perfectly and worked great, BUT, after a few days one of the zones stopped working. I contacted for a replacement and in a couple of days I had a new timer. No hassles, no problems. As soon as the new one arrived, I sent the old one back. Very easy. With the high cost of fresh vegetables I decided to expand my garden where space allowed. Unfortunately the plots are scattered throughout the yard, thus the need for a multi port timer. Pro’s: Well constructed featuring brass water inlet, easy to read 3 X 2 LCD screen, well constructed water proof housing the programming buttons and selector switch have a solid tactile feel. Programming the unit requires only four steps per outlet. The software allows you to program all four zones to activate at the same time and staggers the output of each zone by twenty minutes. Fantastic for soaker hose applications thus eliminating pressure drops. Timer also incorporates a rain delay feature. Cons: None. This is the third Rainport valve I purchased over two years (last two gifted to kids). Final thoughts: Timer needs to be activated before use which incorporates opening and closing of the valve to insure proper sealing. Instruction manual easy to understand. ... show more

I have several of them with 2 zone and this comes with 4 zone and I simply love this. This will save space instead of adding individual separate zones and this will allow to deliver 4 zones on different time frames. the settings are simple to set and accurate ,easy to use, no leaks so far . this will save your batteries as well as i have used single or dual zone and need to change all batteries and also i want to hookup on single nose cannot fit all 4 and this 4 zone rescued and saved with single line i can schedule for 4 zones. ... show more

I've been using this timer for a week now and it's working perfectly fine. I've been running some sprinklers, but plan on moving it to my garden to put some planter boxes on schedules. The unit sits firmly when you can mount it with the support bar. The unit is large, but after using other 4-way timers where all the spouts are in a line, I prefer the extra spacing this style provides, as the threads are easier to attach hoses to by hand. ... show more

This multi-zone hose timer has been a lifesaver for my busy life. There is a slight learning curve to set it up but, once you get the hang of it, it's simple to use and control. Overall build quality seems strong - the brass fitting is a nice addition and the inclusion of spare parts is helpful. The four outlets work great and are easy to install, customize, and coordinate. We got this as an addition for the front after purchasing the two outlet version for the back and liking that one. We were able to set up four hoses to water 4 different areas on their own schedule. No leaks and set up was super simple.
