  • Wonderful radio!
Great quality, I am at a loss for words for how they can produce it at this price. The controls are super intuitive and the SWR meter is spot-on accurate. The speaker-mic, with its remote control buttons, is a great addition to this radio, especially if you're driving.

  • Another winner from Radioddity!
Radioddity has released yet another gem. Anyone seeking a smaller-sized, yet feature-packed radio would do well with this. Anyone who wants to have the radio perform all of which it is capable, simply do the modifications. There are a number of videos online which show how to this simple procedure. Radioddity is rapidly becoming a major player in the 2-way radio industry, for good reason. Long as they don't grow complacent & tune out their customers (which is what has happened at uniden and midland), I can see Radioddity being a mainstay for decades to come. ... show more

  • Amazing radio 10,11,12m all for under hundred bucks. NO SSB but for the price amazing
OK was looking for a 2nd radio and didn't want to break the bank and this one fits the need. 10,11,12m with good output power . It don't have SSB but i don't talk on it much when im out driving around. This at the price under a hundred bucks with all the nice features you can't go wrong. This has your Roger Beep, Talk back , FM, AM and it's 10-12m and will deadkey 8w swing to 20w no problem. Love that it has a frequency counter built in has BANDS A-N i think 21m to 30m has a nice filter system in it and easy menu to follow and setup. You can jump up and down the bands from the mic buttons on top. AGAIN it's NOT SSB but your not going to find another radio that will talk from 21-30m 10,11,12m with all what this has for under a Hundred bucks. If you want a SSB radio keep looking and with all this has channels and all get ready to pay near three hundred buck min for it. So far this radio is working good and if you don't stay on the mic for hours it runs cool. Nothing inside of it to peek or turn like most new radios now days. This is like an OLD SKOL radio with lot's of new functions in it. ... show more

  • Has everything I need it for, plus more
I mainly got this for emergency situations and weather alerts if we lose power. I like that it has a toggle to the emergency channel 9, the weather channel toggle, and AM/FM radio. I do need to use my own antenna. I'll have to watch some YouTube channels to get a full understanding of everything I can do with this, but I figured out the basics. I like that this one has a nice digital screen, even though it works on analog. It also has the handsfree mode with the VOX capability, so that can be useful if you are driving. Another feature that I am not sure I will need, but good to have just in case, are the PA option if I connect to an external speaker. ... show more

  • Looks identical to Cobra 29 LTD classic, capable of 10 meters and beyond. Keep reading...
This radio looks identical to the Cobra 29 LTD Classic and the AnyTone-900PRO, which shares the same model number. It comes ready to work the CB band and frequencies are divided up into the standard 40 pre-set channels. Both AM and FM transmission are supported (no SSB). This radio can also receive NOAA weather radio frequencies. Since this is a licensed CB radio, it transmits with no more than 4 Watts of power and broadcast frequencies are not adjustable. You, as an individual, do not need a license. Power can be either 12V or 24V DC, and amperage is low enough that you can use an adapter that plugs into a cigarette lighter socket. This radio has many features, most of which you've either read about elsewhere or can imagine if you are at all familiar with CB radio. You must add you own antenna and antenna cable as these are not included. This radio includes an SWR meter that can test your antenna and cable to make sure they put most of their energy into transmitting a signal. Transmitting from this radio without an antenna, or without an antenna tuned for efficient transmission of signal, can damage this radio and you should not expect repair to be covered by the manufacturer's warranty. The hand microphone, with four-pin connector, includes an up, down, and select button. You can plug in an external speaker and use this radio as a Public Address amplifier, useful to tell others to get off your lawn or that emergency services have been called. This radio is controlled by an embedded processor that can run an alternate configuration. To access this alternate configuration you remove the cover and move a jumper, located toward the front on the main board, one step over (the jumper is between two pins, there are three pins total). Once the jumper is changed, the personality of the radio changes, too. All changes exceed what a CB radio is generally supposed to do. In this new configuration, output power is doubled, and suddenly there are 12 bands to choose from that range from 24.715 to 30.105MHz. Each band then has 45 (not 40) channels. Band D covers the same frequency range as the standard CB radio range but with 45 channels you shouldn't expect each channel to align well with the channels everyone else uses. Bands F through J cover the ham radio 10-meter band for which you, as a person, need a license. Since there is no continuous tuning, you are stuck to the frequencies assigned to the pre-set channels. The L band overlaps the ham 12-meter band. It may be that in other geographical areas these added features are of value. Here in the United States you won't find them to either be approved for use or useful. Maybe, with all the sunspots these days, transmission on the 10-meter band will get you heard a continent away, something that could be useful in an emergency when nothing local can be reached or heard. But chances are you should make use of this CB radio as it is configured out of the box and set aside these additional possibilities. This radio works well. The display and its colors are expressive. With a little use this radio becomes intuitive. Sound is clear, features are broad, and if you frequently travel where cellphone coverage is low, this radio can help keep you apprised of the local situation, make it possible for you to ask for advice or help from others near you, and be of service in an emergency. Make sure to get an antenna designed for the CB radio band, and a mount that won't let go at highway speeds on a blustery day. I hope my experience has been of help in your buying decision. ... show more

  • Transmit RF power 20% below specifications, 3.19 watts into dummy 50 ohm load, should be 4 watts.
CB900 Pro operates nicely with upgraded features however transmitting power is below specifications, 3.19 watts not 4 watts as advertised. The is measured with a 50 ohm dummy load, SWR 1.01, over CB frequencies.
