I needed to do some welding but didn't want to spend a lot of money. I am a novice welder at best. I bought this hoping it would do what I needed it to do and it has. It definitely works better on 220 volts but does weld on 110 volts. The problems I had on 110 volts were due to my lack of experience. It fell off my trailer into the dirt once while I was welding and didn't stop running or welding (about 3 feet). The drop was not intentional. This welder is light so make sure it is secure where you place it. I have welded everything from 1/8" steel to 2-3/8" oil field pipe. It welds everything I need it to. The only thing I replaced was the ground clamp. I love this welder and would buy it again if it quit working. Mike ... show more

I'm a complete novice welder, so I haven't tried many others for comparison, but this is the first one I've tried that I was successful with. It's easy to set up and use. Very lightweight and portable, but still feels like good-quality parts.

I am very impressed with this welder. Got it for the size and portability. I am a beginner and still able to lay down some nice beads with 3/32 6010, 6011, 6013, and 7018. The 6010 was difficult to keep lit but setting the arc force about 5 helped. The pictures with the slag peel and clean bead were done with the 6013. The welding cables are all copper and sufficient for this welder. The electrode holder is also sufficient. The work clamp is junk. I replaced it before I even tried the welder. I did put a clamp meter on the work clamp cable and consistently got about 15 amps below what I had set on the display plugged into 240 volts. That is why I took one star and I put a label on the front to remind myself to set it a bit higher than normal. I also tested this running from a 4850/3850 generator. Works great. ... show more

I needed an affordable welder to repair an appliance I had. This setup with hood and tools was less expensive than trying to get a new part shipped to me by at least $100. I recall using a stick welder about 30 years ago and thought this would be worth a try. Glad I did, it came packaged well and I could use eihtr 120V or 220V. I went the easy way and did 120V and it worked great. Good product, affordable, and really easy to use. I got the one with the more advanced digital display and found that easy to adjust to try to get the welding stick to melt just right on my repair - it did the job and we are all happy. ... show more
