The install wasn’t bad except the one piece that would not stick on the sides after I cut the excess off. The rest of the install went smoothly. I chose to do the lines horizontally. For standard patio doors purchase (4) of the 23 x 78 boxes of film. I installed this on my own. A squeegee and soapy water is key. If you want horizontal lines I High recommend using measuring tape and lining the lines exactly the same on each door. Our neighbors will only be able to see shadows when we eat dinner. We took down our vertical blinds and put this up! It wasn’t the most difficult to install but definitely not the easiest either. I did cut to the measurement of the glass, sprayed the glass with water, and sprayed the film, attached to glass, then used a card to get all bubbles out. It looks much better than the vertical blinds that were there and gives privacy so I cannot complain. This is day one so I will see if it holds up! ... show more

It sticks on easily. The instructions tell you to overestimate the window size so you can cut it down after it's applied. It'll be easier to NOT do that step and just cut the right size the first time. Be sure to clean the window and get rid of all dirt, air, and water bubbles because they will show through the film. ... show more

I had two rooms that I wanted frosted glass doors on, but those are CRAZY expensive to buy. So I found two doors online, cheap, and ordered this vertical striping film. I've used Rabittgoo products before, so I know how good it is. The vertical stripes on this made it VERY easy to cut to the correct width, I just followed the line all the way down the film. The Rabittgoo film is heavier than a lot of films, which is a huge plus - it doesn't get crinkled up, doesn't tear, really makes applying it easier. Couldn't be happier with how these doors turned out!! I've had friends tell me they look like they were professionally done, the stripes are just the modern, clean look I was going for. Some installation tips, having done this a LOT before: * I've done this with a card to push the air bubbles out, and I've done it with a squeegee - GET THEE A SQUEEGEE!! It makes pushing the air bubbles out absolutely effortless. Done and done, in 1/16th the time of any other method. Also, when pushing out the air bubbles, they are serious about spraying the film down with the soapy water solution first, once you have it applied - makes moving the squeegee over the film much, much easier. When done, just wipe the whole thing down. * The video demo shows the guy using a tiny little handheld straight edge to make the cuts. The type of straight edge you use makes a difference - you don't want something too thick, or it gets in the way of getting a good cut. Too thin, and you can't hold it in place well enough - you really must snug it up tight against the edge of the window to get a good cut. A thin metal ruler is JUST RIGHT. If you use a plastic one, and are using a sharp knife like you should, it can cut into the plastic instead of skimming the edge to make the cut. * Use a NEW, sharp blade and be prepared to change the blade out during the process if necessary - can't emphasize this enough - it needs to be SHARP. Otherwise it'll get snagged up in the plastic and you'll be cursing for the mess you've made. * RESIST the urge to ever pull a piece off, if you're cutting it and there's a little straggling piece. Lay your straight edge back down and cut it that way. Pulling can result in holes in the piece you don't want. * WATCH THE DEMO online about how to install these. On the corners, when it's time to remove the film, I strongly recommend two little pieces of duct tape. They just say to use tape, but the type of tape matters. You need something strong enough to adhere to the plastic, but then easy enough to peel off when you're done. * Finally, the soapy water is your friend in this process - don't scrimp on that. Apply it liberally to a clean window, liberally to the film you're about to apply, liberally to the film once applied, so it's easier to push the air bubbles out. ... show more

Are you a generally private person who has a healthy dose of paranoia from listening to true crime podcasts while also harboring a love for natural sunlight? Yeah, me too. Enter in, privacy window film. I have purchased the following types of privacy film: 1) Frosted Stripe (frost w/ small horizontal stripes) 2) Mosaic (small squares 0.5cm x 0.5cm) 3) Kaleidoscope (if mosaic had a whimsical cousin) #1 offers the most privacy but (due to it's opacity) gives off a weird soft white glow when the sun shines through. It's my favorite in terms of privacy but least favorite in terms of letting the natural light shine in. #2 offers less privacy than #1 but more than #3. When the natural light shines through, it makes small rainbows! The squares give it a structured feel while still remaining whimsical due to the rainbow effect. This one is my favorite. #3 offers the least amount of privacy. It makes the prettiest rainbows when the sun shines through the window! This is the most whimsical option. All of the privacy films are good. They are easy to install and allow me to provide my pets and myself sunlight without worrying if someone can peek inside. If you're looking from the outside-in while it's daylight and the lights are off, it's very difficult to make-out any details inside of the house. Please note that, especially at night when the blinds are open and the lights inside are on, even with the opaque Frosted Horizontal Stripe film you can still see figures moving around while looking from the outside-in. That being said #1 I usually close the blinds as soon as I get home from work and #2 some privacy is better than no privacy. All things considered I would recommend this item but probably not repurchase it unless I buy it specifically for the bathroom. Pro tip: If you're having difficulty cutting the film to size, most mid-priced wrapping papers have a square grid 1 inch by 1 inch wide on the backside of it. Measure your desired window, cut the wrapping paper to size (or add another 0.5 - 1.0 inch more to account for mistakes), and use the cut wrapping paper as a guide to cut the window film. All you need is soapy water in a spray bottle, a utility knife, a credit card/squeegee, and preferably a metal ruler to help guide you on trimming up the straight edge. There's no adhesive. If you need to remove it, all you have to do is peel it off the window. ... show more
