This heater delivers on all counts: warmth, looks, quiet, and ease of use/installation. We were concerned about using it on a wood wall, but no problem as the only heat generated is on the front, near the outlet. The manual does not describe this well, though. Installation is a breeze for on-the-wall mounting with a strong bracket, although it helped to be 2 of us as in manual to better hold glass. Did use our own shorter screws so as not to stick into knee wall storage behind. Heats our 10x15 bedroom just fine here in Maine (it is on second floor with no other heat source). Looks sleek, nicely designed with lower indicator lights going-out until you need them with a touch on screen or remote that’s works great. We can hear the fan, but it is quiet enough to be barely heard background sound. And we are having such fun playing with colored lights on shimmering crystals (hard plastic, but look like glass) that work fine as described. Although not real logs or a real fireplace, it is enough different that it can be enjoyed for its own merits. Especially love the tall, dancing flames that add reflective primal ambience. The big black cord is a bit unsightly, and we hope to install heater in wall and hide cord as another project, but this was as advertised. The 30 inch size was just right for this room, not available with many vendors. So, unless this product fails, it is delightful for a distinctive, funky, effective and easy-to-use heater if this is your style—and using this electric heat via our community solar farm means it is carbon free, an added bonus for climate change. ... show more

The R. W. FLAME Electric Fireplace is a PERFECT addition to our living room. It was quite easy to install and I built a wall unit around the fireplace and created an overall major focal point in our home. I want to credit “Lori” who in her review mentioned how she “ran black electric tape along the edge of the tray” then replaced the clear crystals with black crystals. I also ran tape along the back as well as the front of the tray and added the black crystals I purchased on Amazon. This upgrade really improved the look turning it from nice, to REALLY NICE, and achieving a more authentic look to the flames. It was time for an update and this did the trick. We had an ugly corner wood burning fireplace that we used for years, but was getting tired of lugging wood in the house and all the dirt that came with it. We purchased this one based on the reviews. I couldn't tell you how easy or not the install was because my contractor did it, but what I can tell you is how beautiful this is! It has so many different colors as well as you can change the flame color the height and the speed. The heat works very well. We purchased this fireplace and built a shiplap surround to hold this and our tv. It was super easy to install. We just built a little frame and set it in it. The clearance required is minimal so our fireplace only sticks out 6” from the all. We were able to plug it into a regular outlet. No venting needing. The remote works great. If you don’t want to use the remote there is also a switch to turn it on. The heat is minimal. I’d say it’s like a small space heater. However it does kick off heat you can feel. I live in Minnesota so I can see us putting the heater on frequently from November-February. The rocks it comes with are a little cheesy so I’ll likely order some fake logs to replace them with. I can’t speak to the durability as we have only had it installed a couple of months. For the price, it’s hard to imagine you can beat this. We looked at Menards and they don’t have anything close to this size for the price we paid. This looks and works great. I’d recommend this for anyone who wants to DIY a fireplace. ... show more

Could anyone help, how are you all able to mount the fireplace? I have purchased the 50’ long ago and it didn’t come with hardware. I assumed I could easily find someone to mount it but I can’t even find the service online. I’m ready to attempt myself at this point but don’t even know where to start without the hardware. Great product, however. Only other complaint is my remote stopped working and I’ve probably only used it a handful of times being that it was lost for a while. ... show more

I was skeptical about buying this product. I ended up purchasing the 36 inch version and using it wall-mounted. My biggest fear was the quality of the flame and I was actually very well impressed. It is obvious that the flame is on a rotation, but it is still mesmerizing to watch, the different color combinations really make it a centerpiece to any room overall, I would give this experience and 85% of the unit is very easy to mount and looks clean even when mounted on the wall. Very simple set up everything is included, including drywall screws. I would love for this product to have come with a thermostat for the heat, right now it’s either full heat or turned off. But it’s really nice in the Bedroom to warm it up. ... show more
