Had many chainsaws over the years like stihl, craftsman, echo, eager Beaver and McCullough, and some were good and some just didn't start after sitting. I have had this one for a solid two weeks of use. Started 3rd pull out of the box. Starts right up everytime since. I run it at 35:1, book says 25:1 but that seems a little rich. This little saw is light enough for one hand use, not recommended for safety reasons, and just cuts like crazy. Lopped off some very big pine tree limbs and cut done several medium trucks. Couldn't be happier with this little saw. Highly recommend. Blade has remained sharp way longer than expected. So far I have about 10 tanks of gas through it. Note: it does have a little rattle in it somewhere, maybe the clutch, or linkage, but hasn't seemed to effect it whatsoever. Just can't beat it for the price. Its.my go to saw now even over the larger Stihl and my favorite pole saw. Happy hunting. ... show more

I needed a light weight chain saw to do limb work around the house . I didn't need an expensive commercial saw for occasional use , so I picked out this one . Saw came very well packed in double box . Very easy to assemble . Great visible color and perfect 12" bar size for me . I spent over an hour trying to get this saw to start and idle . Not till I adjusted the hi and low carburetor adjustment screws did I get this saw to start and stay running ! Once I did make those adjustments the saw ran great . Cut thru hardwood with ease . I purchased this chainsaw in preparation for hurricane Beryl that hit texas. I received the saw in time for the storm. I purchased this saw as something small that my wife would be able to use and it's cheap enough that I wouldn't feel bad lending it to a friend or neighbor. The first saw that I received was missing the bar. I would have gone out and purchased another one, but bars for this saw are roughly 1/3 of the price of a brand new one. I contacted Amazon and they issued me a refund and I placed an order for another saw. The new saw came in and had all of its pieces neatly placed in the box. After partial assembly I fueled it up and started breaking in the motor. I left the bar and chain off the Saw during break-in. The saw seems nice and snappy, and the carb is tuned extremely well out of the box. After break in, I bolted up the bar and chain. Then I noticed the major flaw. The band on the kickback break is slightly too small so it rubs on the clutch bell. This generates tons of heat as the saw cuts. I even tried the side cover from the other saw and it features the same defect. So now I have two saws that don't work. I'm pretty disappointed. I guess I'm going back to Stihl power equipment for a name brand saw. ... show more

Bought specifically for lightweight and small to use on a bunch of small trees. Just used to trim down 2 85ft tall trees and it worked great. Easy to start and can use one handed if need be.     • Good little saw

Is this a great saw? It is for the money. This is not a $700 arborist saw. Don't think it'll be one. It's just the compact size of one. But it's a very effective, lightweight, top handle chainsaw. Plastics are lower quality (don't beat it around or toss it on the ground). It's underpowered. And the chain that comes with it is terrible (after 5 cuts I threw it away because it kept binding at the connections to the links). So I picked up a Oregon chain for it. That really helped it out. This little guy will cut (and cut well) if you let it cut at its pace. Don't rush it. It's not meant to do that. It's not a racing saw. It does have adjustable bar oil output. That's a cool feature. And a small felling dog which helps it bite when you need it too. It has all the tools you need for the initial setup and tuning the carb. I don't think I'll be using the fuel bottle that came with it. And the little flat head screwdriver has a "flag" sticking off one side if it to help you see how much your actually turning the jet and idle screws. The agility is where this thing is truly awesome. I used it in my neighbor's back yard to clear some small stuff. I was previously using my modified Stihl MS261 for that. I'll leave my MS261 in the case and grab this little guy for these tasks from now on. This thing pops off at the 3rd pull at full choke (cold start). Then normally starts the 2nd pull on half choke and runs like a champ. I ran it for about 25 to 30 minutes letting it work some (not wanting to really push it hard until it's broken in), shut it down, waited 5 minutes, and tried to restart it. Fired right back up on the second pull. The manual says 25:1 ratio for gas/oil mix. But the top of the saw says 35:1. I'll put in my own mix and see what happens (top tier ethanol free gas with octane boost and FD rated 2 cycle oil). That's what all my other equipment gets. And the people having trouble putting the clutch cover on is because you must have the chain brake off before you can put the cover on. The chain brake won't fit over the clutch if it's in the "on" position. I'm very happy snagging this little saw. I've been running chainsaws for 20 years (homeowner and pro saws). This little thing is fun. I was having a great time in my neighbor's back yard with it. And my neighbor was happy to have that stuff cut. So we were both smiling because of this little guy. Update: I've been using this little thing for over a year. Had something come up where I needed to cut a few things the other day. It still works well. I ended up ditching the original bar and picked up an Oregan brand bar for it. That was a worth while upgrade. ... show more
