The outer packaging material of this pillow is very good, to be clear, it's not cotton, but synthetic material, with a fine fiber texture that feels like silk (with a cool sensation), not the warm feeling of cotton. I've tried different types of pillows, including latex pillows, memory foam, cotton-stuffed ones (used decades ago), and the ones commonly used in hotels, filled with lots of synthetic material (the clustered kind). This pillow has very good support, similar to latex pillows; when you put your head on it, you don't touch the bottom (the further down you go, the greater the elasticity/support, like a spring). If you're looking for something very soft where your head sinks low, this isn't the pillow for you. But if you want high elasticity and support, this one is good. Also, because this pillow isn't latex, it looks very fluffy; when you first put your head on it, the support isn't significant, but the further down you go, the greater the support. The outer feel of this pillow is like the ones commonly found in hotels; the further down you go, the more it feels like latex. The support increases the further down you go. ... show more
