Top Amazon Reviews

  • do I love my printer? yes I do.
The media could not be loaded. OMG, deciding which printer to get was horrible, there were weird reviews everywhere, and most of the reviews on youtube for this printer are for early units, and the diference is noticeable, I was deciding between this QIDI Q1 pro and the Flashforge M5 pro, (just because you can't get bambulabs on Amazon, and those are super expensive where I live) I decided this one was the one, just because the subreddit for QIDI is very helpful, I saw less bad comments about it there and on the 3D printing subreddit, and it's recommended there so... yeah. My experience with it has been stellar, everything is super well documented, it handholds you each step of the way once you plug it in, first print was super fast, and super clean, I haven't had any issues with it as to call Customer Service, but everyone says it's excellent. They offer multiple options for slicers, I ended up picking the QIDI Studio, it's like Orca but tailored for the printer, and it's been solid, very easy to use. Does it print flawless prints out of the box? well, that's argueable, I used SUNLU PLA+ V2, and that thing on this printer is awesome, love the quality, used PETG, meh, quality dropped a bit, so, I guess what you can take from this is, learn how to dial your filaments, and you'll get perfect prints out of it, the slicer has tests and all to help you with that. The UI is... clean, but the tactile screen is a biiiit unresponsive sometimes... not horrible, but noticeable. Very picky cons: It's big and bulky for the print size, it doesn't come with carbon filters, but they have the files to print some on their website, along with other accessories, and the cleaning pads for the nozzle are not a super brilliant solution, they get dirty fast, and cleaning them is super difficult because plastic gets stuck pretty hard, I've seen some recommend swapping those pads with A1 mini silicon pads, I thing I'm gonna give them a chance, but so far, that hasn't been an issue, the nozzle is always clean, even with all that plastic on the pad, ah, and the spool holder sucks, print a different one, or get a filament dryer to work as a spool holder as well, you're gonna need it anyway. Pros: easy to use, prints a lot of materials, it's easy to setup, the QIDI Studio slicer is easy to use, they update it often adding new functions, it's mostly plug and play, print quality is VERY nice, and support (at least the part I have used, the wiki) is super good, the camera... man the camera is super cool, and the timelapse option is great. I love this printer, thanks for the recommendation reddit ppl, I hope this review helps you decide, it's very good for the price. ... show more

  • New to 3D printing - I'm impressed!
Santa brought this printer to my kids, ages 10 & 13 for Christmas. Long story short, we took it out of the box, followed the on-screen setup instructions, and immediately printed a small boat form the onboard sample library. It was literally 25 minutes from "remove gift wrap" to "new ornament for the tree". I'm an engineer, but also a compete noob to 3D printing. I expected that since low-cost 3D printers have a reputation for being complicated and finicky, we would have a lot of tinkering and fussing to get it to work. Ot that it would be a flimsy piece of junk. Or that the software would suck. Happily, that has NOT been the case. The kids have printed almost 30 hours worth of stuff without a single print failure. Today I helped my son draw a light saber in CAD, which he just pulled it off the printer an hour ago. The look on his face was priceless and we all marveled at how cool it was! We are using 'anycubic' brand generic PLA in a handful of colors, and the printer just cranks out parts like it's the easiest thing in the world. I am beyond impressed. I can't speak to the quality of customer service (supposedly it's good) as we have not needed it at all. I did manage to get the filament jammed in the head trying to unload it, but the printer came with all of the tools needed to take apart the print head and (with great care and crossed fingers) clear the jam. To be fair the printer told me in bright red letters that using the auto-unload might cause a jam but I ignored it. So yeah... heed the warning and save yourself some hassle on that one. Pros: It has printed 100% reliably so far using generic PLA resin The auto bed-leveling worked perfectly out of the box. I did not have to adjust anything. It's VERY quiet. Quieter than an inkjet printer. It's enclosed so you can print ABS and ASA filament. It's a core X-Y machine so the bed is stable. Tall and slender parts do not fall over during print. The included slicer software was very easy to learn, very fast, and comes with useful default settings. The unit connected to our WiFi on the first try and we are now able to send files straight from the computer and see progress on the included camera. The touch screen interface is easy to understand. Tools for maintenance are included. The overall build quality is really nice! You can print big stuff - almost 10" tall! Cons: The enclosure does not have any filtration, so fumes from printing ABS can escape. There are 3-D printable filters that can be added to it, however it's extra time and work. The auto-filament unload did not work (it warns of this on the display, but why have it if it doesn't work?) Granted we have only run it for about 28 hours of total print time, but my initial impressions are that I am very pleased with this product. ... show more

  • Poor Quality Printer With Even Worse Customer Support!
About 3-4 years ago I started 3d printing. My first printer was a Qidi XMax. Fantastic machine and the company had great customer support, especially for beginners. After that, I bought a few more Qidi printers, and ventured into a few other brands (Creality & Flashforge to name a few). Since then I stopped printing for a few years. Recently, I decided to dive back into the hobby and I bought a Qidi Q1 Pro on Prime Day and was excited to see the new developments in printing technology, especially from Qidi, a brand I was familiar with. WOW! I was in for a surprise. The quality of the product dropped significantly and the technology/software was buggy and glitchy. To top it off, customer support took forever to respond. The emailed me once to ask for my warranty info and next (after a few days), to offer stock troubleshooting tips I could have obtained off the web that didn't work. After that, communication ceased completely, despite my continued emails for other options. I was left with no other option but to return the printer. Basically, the machine froze after I tried to update the firmware. The blue screen of death appeared and nothing could get it off. Unbelieveable!!! Stay away from these printers. What an absolute joke!!! ... show more
