The media could not be loaded. I live in the basement and wanted to have a water filter down there that I could have ready for late night teas, morning coffee, or just a cup of water. When I got this filter, I cleaned it out and poured water in it. The following day there were black pieces floating in the water so I thought maybe the water filter had a leak or I missed a spot while cleaning it out. I cleaned it out for a second time and ever since I have not had any issues and the water filter has worked just fine. If you use in the fridge, it does not take up much space because I think its only about 4.5 inches wide. I have seen other filters that fit more water but they are so wide that they take up too much space in the fridge and it gets annoying. This water filter is aesthetically pleasing. As you can see in my video, it is also incredibly easy to assemble and clean. I also love the little sticker they give you to remind you when you need to change your water filter. 'out of sight, out of mind" like they say and You can put this sticker on the front and center so you don't forget. ... show more

Hearing that my town's water wasn't as pure as I assumed led me to get this. Now I have learned that my town is hardly alone, that most tap-water is questionable. So it is sadly necessary to filter the water we drink. PUR is one of the most reliable and highly-regarded home water filters. It is also very easy to use. The filters are easy to insert into the pitcher, and they last two months. In no time at all, you'll have a pitcher in your fridge ready for ice cubes, coffee, water bottles, and drinking as is. By the way, I read that the standards of bottled water are also questionable. So save yourself some money and be safer at the same time. Get a water bottle from Amazon, get this pitcher, and you'll be better off. If for some reason the instructions aren't clear, PUR has a few YouTube videos that show exactly what to do. I chose this Pur water filtering pitcher over a Brita filter due to the fact that it claims to filter better than the Brita brand. The in-door water dispenser on my refrigerator is broken and this is a much cheaper solution than a new fridge. When the pitcher arrived I was actually surprised at how small the pitcher is as compared to other water filter pitchers I’ve used. Don’t get me wrong, it does the trick and the smaller size does allow for more room in the fridge, but also means that you absolutely have to refill the top portion upon every use. My big complaint is the tiny flap at the tip of the pour spout. It appears to be a cheap plastic flap that is held to the lid with a VERY cheap pair of plastic receiving clasps. The lid flap will fall off at any moment without any effort. It’s fallen off in my glass, it’s fallen off in my sink when refilling the pitcher and fell into my drain, it’s just terrible! This flap is truly the reason for a lower three-star rating. If it weren’t for the cheap flap I’d easily give this a four-star rating, five if the pitcher was a bit larger. Other than my complaint about the flap, the pitcher works great. The Pur filter does an excellent job of producing flavorless water to drink, filtering out all the nasty from my tap. I do recommend this water filter pitcher to you, just hope that you get a better lid than I did. I hope this review was helpful to you in some way. Cheers! ... show more
