Kettle will heat 20 oz of water at room temp in about 3 mins. The strainer on the lid is made of plastic - needs to be changed. To avoid hot water passing over the plastic, you have to raise the lid one click. Two clicks in a 90% angle for easy cleaning Make the entire bottom of the lid and strainer stainless steel so that no water passes over any plastic and this would be a good kettle at this price point. Another design annoyance is that the lid does not flip open via a thumb press. You have to disengage the locking mechanism on the lid. How hard would it be to put a lid lever on the top of the handle and move the "on - off" switch lower down or to the base? Also, the kettle lacks a off function when boiling has been reached., so be careful ... show more
