🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The reviews provide a diverse perspective on the ProForm Studio Bike, ranging from difficulties with initial setup and customer service to high praise for its functionality and features once operational. Users have noted its sturdy build, the immersive experience provided by the large touchscreen, and its value compared to competitive products. However, some users encountered early issues with electronics and build quality, suggesting variability in quality assurance from the factory.

Pros

  • 🚴 Sturdy build quality and relatively simple assembly process.
  • 💰 Good value, especially when found on sale.
  • 🖥️ Large, sensitive touchscreen enhancing user experience.
  • 🌐 iFit program offers a wide range of coach-led rides and intuitive interface.
  • ⚙️ Offers customizable features such as standard cycle pedals and saddle stem.

Cons

  • ⚠️ Some users report initial issues with electronics and build quality.
  • 🔧 Saddle comfort and bar padding may require additional investment to improve.
  • 🚫 Lack of connectivity with popular fitness trackers like Apple Watch directly.
  • 💔 iFit subscription seems essential for full functionality, lacking built-in programs.
  • 🔇 Music selection and calorie burn reporting on iFit may not meet everyone's expectations.

Should I Buy It?

If you're seeking a well-priced, immersive fitness experience and are willing to navigate potential initial hiccups or invest in customization for comfort, the ProForm Studio Bike appears to be a solid choice. It's especially recommended for those who value interactive training sessions and are prepared for possible improvements to the saddle or pedal system. However, for those who expect flawless operation out of the box or seamless compatibility with external fitness trackers without additional apps, it may be beneficial to consider alternatives or approach with caution.

  • Patience wins the day
Style: ProForm Studio Bike Pro 10
I don’t usually write long reviews but I am afraid this is going to be a lengthy one. I am giving this bike a 5 even though, like everything, it could use some improvements. I feel it is important to tell my story for future buyers. I will start off with I love this bike and the workouts it offers. Review could stop there except for a need for transparency; it took two months, a lot of frustration, and a lot of patience to get to this point. I ordered the bike from Amazon. The first console was making a very loud noise and there was no resistance. They sent me a new console but it quit working after one use and there still was no resistance. I received a third console and hoped that this was the answer but it quit and still no resistance. The company finally sent me a brand new bike and I have had little to no problems and love working out on it. As far as the reviews that complain of the videos freezing, I had that happen once when I first got it but over the last three months it has been fine. The resistance is working great now and if a particular workout isn’t hard enough or is too hard you can manually adjust the resistance. I love that I don’t have to think about changing anything, it all happens automatically unless you want to override. You get a free year membership to the iFit programs and if you decide not to go with the membership after a year there are built in programs and you can create your own. Some reviews complain about customer service. I had only two issues with customer service. First, the wait time on the phone was long but I just put it on speaker and worked while I waited. Second, the hours customer service can be reached are typically when the average person is working so you can’t call them when you are actually having the problem if you workout early in the morning or after work. That said, when I did get a representative (all three times) they were excellent. Each one was very friendly and took time to understand the problem. They told me what to do when I got home, what pictures or videos to take, and gave me an email address to send them. It does not have an incline/decline but I decided that was not worth the extra $1,000.00. You can adjust the resistance if you need to but the workouts appear to be compensating for that automatically. It is easy to put together. They say use two people but I did it by myself. It would have been a little easier in certain steps but it is possible for one. Most of the negative reviews I have seen are from buyers on amazon. All the professional reviews were great which is why I was so determined to make it work. It gives the benefits plus extras that don’t come with the Peloton for a fraction of the price. I have never workout on the Peloton so I am not here to review it but it is quite a bit more expensive and you have to pay for the membership, without that the bike is worthless. I recommend this bike but based on my experience along with other reviewers I would buy it from the company. It is now a little more expensive (both the company and amazon had it for $999. I have seen a price drop on amazon). I waited several months before writing this to make sure everything continued working and it has been great. ... show more

  • Arrived in large box, put together and DOES NOT WORK
Style: ProForm Studio Bike Pro 22
I ordered this unit to add to our workout room after completing a great deal of research. Settled with this unit and it arrived a day after ordering (thank you Amazon - 1/22/22 arrival). I was reading online and it stated you should let the unit "warm up", so I waited a week to put the unit together. (It say in the workout room - in pieces) I took the time to review all the documentation and put the unit together in about 2-hours (1/26/22) and then placed in location. I then connected the plug (As directed by manual) and nothing happened. I then double check the outlet and also all the connections, and nothing. The power plug was "green", but nothing. I immediately attempted to contact the company with no luck so issued e-mail. E-mail response came a few hours later and had little to do with a exercise bike. However, i took the time to review everything they issue and nothing changed. I then responded back on the 27th (via e-mail) advising that nothing worked. As of today, no response and i have an exercise bike that i cannot use. To make matters worse, i do not have the box due to the size so how do i return this? I have called the company and was on hold for an hour - nothing. I then called back and left my number. I really was looking forward to utilizing this bike but now i have to waste a hugh amount of time and effort to figure this out. ... show more

  • Good bike, no issues after about 300 hours of riding
Style: ProForm Studio Bike Pro 22
Got this in December 2022 to replace an old ProForm TDF spin bike. Since then I have put about 300 hours and 5000 "miles" on the bike with no significant issues and little to do in the way of maintenance. I have heard some have initial issues due to factory QA. Fortunately I have not had such problems and it worked right out of the box. Pros: Generally sturdy, relatively simple assembly Not terribly expensive if you are patient and wait for a sale Large and fairly sensitive 22" touchscreen, helps immerse the rider Great coach led road, gravel, mountain bike rides (need subscription for that) Plenty of studio rides as well, though I don't use them and cannot attest to quality. Magnetic resistance range is likely enough for most people Standard cycle pedals (so you can install clipless pedals) and saddle stem (for a different saddle) iFit interface is relatively intuitive and stable. I think I have "lost" one ride in total, pretty not bad. Cons: A friend got one on my recommendation and had issues with build quality that took several weeks to rectify. Annoying to her and embarrassing to me. Saddle is marginally usable, requiring either replacement or gel pad Geometry adjustments could be finer and with more range Bar padding is unyielding. I added silicon pads, good cork tape and cycling gloves to prevent sleeping fingers. iFit does not talk to Apple Watch for heart rate and calorie burn. Fortunately, there is an app called Echo that you can use to pair the watch to the bike. A bit buggy, but works without issues 90%+ of the time. App is not free but not terribly expensive. iPhone also required to make it work. iFit calorie burn is way, way off. As in 3x to 4x actual burn. My demographic data is correctly entered. I suspect that Watts is also off, but it is consistent so still useful. I don't think the bike would be useful without an iFit subscription, unlike the older bikes which had built-in programs and alternative methods to change resistance. No built in fan for some reason. Music selections are terrible! I just muted the music, which has separate controls from the trainer. Unpacking the bike safely from shipping box was more difficult than the assembly itself. Weird. Cons may seem long, but the bike does everything it should. I still rate 5 stars because it's been bulletproof and effective, for a fraction of the price of some bikes. Customize it to fit you and your needs, then go sweat. ... show more
