  • You will not find a better value for a professional tripod - one small complaint though
I HATE shopping for a tripod. I hate how much companies charge for three metal legs that stand upright. I hate that when it comes to tripods, weight is stability but its also weight. Finding something sturdy that I can also hike with is contradictory by nature. I looked forever and when I found the Artcise carbon fiber, I ordered it a prayed it would deliver so I wouldnt have to think about tripods for another 5-10 years. Let me definitively say that this tripod is the best value you will find. I shoot with a Sony A7Riii with 70-200 and this thing does not budge, even with all that weight. The carbon fiber is as sturdy as you can get while still being lightweight. The head is perfection, offering a ball head simultaneously with fixed-plane adjustment ability. The value of a ball head is quick, effortless composition set up, but the problem comes in if you want to do any side-to-side for panos or video. This head solves that problem by also allowing a swivel adjustment lock in addition to the ballhead. Oh, and this thing is TALL. I love being able to go well above my head and still knowing the camera is sturdy as can be. There is only ONE complaint that I personally have. Rather than having a quick release plate, the only plate offered has to be carefully slipped into place, then tightened. Anyone who has done this long enough has, at some point, thought it was in place int he dark only to realize the plate was slightly off when the head was tightened and watched their camera fall off in horror. I would LOVE to see a quick release option such as those many Manfrottos use where the clip will ONLY go into place when it is correctly locked onto the plate, ensuring you never make a mistake in the dark or in a rush. 9.9/10 for this one! ... show more

  • Love this sturdy tripod and monopod combo!
As other reviewers stated, this Artcise tripod is stable, impressive quality for the money, and is definitely on par with $400-$600 competitors’ tripods. Very happy I took my time, did some comparison shopping and landed on this Artcise. This is the Size 85 with 1 of 3 leg extensions out, and the center column is down. I’m using this tripod with a Benro GD3WH geared head. It fits well, no modifications were necessary to the Artcise tripod. I didn’t have any issues/concerns with the Artcise ball head that came with this tripod, in fact I put it on one of my smaller Vanguard tripods, but I purchased this heavier Artcise and Benro head for short exposure, untracked, astrophotography with heavy lenses, and this tripod/head combination is a dream come true for a lot less money than I thought I would have to spend. PS, I love the monopod functionality with its convertible leg, and I think the size of the tripod is really manageable for travel. Big plus not to have to bring a tripod and a monopod on trips. ... show more

  • Solid Tripod and Light
Love the tripod, solid, light and attractive but I don’t see any way for me to buy an extra mounting plate.

  • Outstanding tripod at a great price.
This is a rock solid heavy duty tripod at a very reasonable cost. I have used tripods that cost five times as much that were not significantly better in any way. I am using it for a heavy spotting scope with a gimbal head, and it is performing flawlessly. You will not be disappointed with this in any way I do not believe. ... show more

  • Heavy but very stable
Outstanding stability, but too heavy to lug around on a long hike of a mile or more. I used this for 40 wildlife photos yesterday and it was excellent. I own three other tripods, and this is the most stable of all, but one older tripod is very light and is used when on a hike in nearby mountains. This tripod is best used for studio work, architecture and landscape. ... show more

  • Everything I could’ve asked for
Excellent tripod. Extremely sturdy, well designed, easy to figure out functions. Maybe a little heavy, but nothing that would deter my ability to shoot photography. Fraction of the price of other carbon fiber tripods. Highly recommend!

  • Less than 12 months in — tripod broke
I’m very disappointed. At this price, it’s upsetting that this tripod didn’t even last 12 months; this was supposed to be a long term investment. After detaching one arm and main pole to use as a monopod, I tried to reattach the primary pole back to reconstruct the tripod and a cheap plastic piece got jammed. It caused the entire main pole to be tightly stuck with neither upwards nor downwards motion. When I tried to wiggle it free the plastic piece snapped and now I have no way of moving the primary pole. It is basically useless for me now. Very upset and cannot find a way to contact support. ... show more

  • A light, sturdy tripod with one flaw
It's as light as my old, smaller aluminum tripod, and more sturdy. The only problem so far is that you cannot remove the center column and remount the ball and socket head as shown by the manual. It simply doesn't fit! No matter. A short length of 3/8" coarse thread allthread, a large washer and nut fixed it. BTW. The main reason for buying it in the first place was to have a tripod tall enough that I did not have to use the center column, which greatly adds to tripod unsteadiness. I've only had it for a week or so, so I can't comment on its durability. Yet! ... show more
