I needed a voltage reducer in order to put lights, t/s, brake lights and horn on my Yamaha Golf Car. The instructions were very good with color coding in the instruction sheets. My cousin is a factory Yamaha mechanic and to make sure I set it up correctly, I made a phone call to him. I was going to bypass the red wire to the ignition switch, but he told me it's better to hook it up to save the batteries in the long run. Happy with so far. This voltage reducer IS designed to provide an ISOLATED 12vdc circuit on the output side.....so it is not possible to use the same 48vdc ground point for input and output circuits (other converters offer common ground design, which makes installation a little simpler). Otherwise, device works exactly as desired, installed easily and I really loved having the quick-connect harness to wire in BEFORE connecting to the voltage reducer....allows me to make sure everything is wired in correctly before making any connections to the device, as well as allows an easy and quick disconnect if ever needed. ... show more

Purchased from Amazon, Shipped and Installed accordingly to the diagrams provided. Used a 12V switch as the trigger, No issues there. Connected the 48 Volt source accordingly & then connected the output (Supposedly 12 Volts @ XX Amp's) of this transformer - To my Existing / Fully Working / And have been working for at least a year using one of the batteries as its source. Which ultimately Kills that Battery instead of using ALL of the 4 12V batteries as "One" - Lasting Basically "Forever"... Anyway.... Hit the switch...... Not even a Blip or flash or a Burp, or a Flicker at the Hips ---- Lights Completly Smoed.. Verified input Voltage (48V) Verified Output Voltage (I was hoping for 12V, But I got 43Volts) Had to get New Lights, Transformer, ETC ETC BlaaBlaaBlaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.... And UNFORTUNITLY, or Apparently I waited to long to install this part and I got Screwed outta 317.74 Really Disappointed to say the least. Its one thing if I have the money to Spend or Blow.. But when Im like Hand-N-Mouth, Paycheck to Paycheck, Kids, School, Bills etc.. We All have them.. When Im Broke ---> Really "EEEERKS Me".....
