UPDATE: i bought these as i was going in for major surgery. These pillows are literally a God send! I own a king set of MyPillows which I love, but these pillows are even better, at a better price. To say I love these pillow is an understatement. I never come back to post a review after posting one - i put this on here for YOU, the next potential buyer. If you are a comparason shopper:, Buy these!!! They are really that awesome! When that time comes to replace them - my decision is simple - these in King Size!!!! Admittedly, I am a pillow snob. I am this way as I suffer from insomnia, and I toss and turn all night. Also I'm a pretty big guy (6-4", 260) and I need a well built pillow to support my head. Making matters worse I tend to be a stomach sleeper. All of these things combined have forced me to spend money on quality pillows. After I opened these up from their shrink wrap I followed the directs of putting them in a low heat dryer for 45 minutes. This got them to a nice plump size. I did have to let them de-gas for a couple days on my porch as they initially had a strong odor. As I figured that went away in about 48 hours of letting them breath in their expanded state. After one night on these pillows I am hooked. The fill is very soft, yet surprisingly firm in its resistance to the weight of my noggin. I slept like a baby on these. I am not very easily impressed with pillows. In fact they are in competition on my bed with 2 King size MyPillow's. as of right now the win hands down because they are soft, not lumpy, and have the perfect resistance back against my head. I also put them in bamboo pillow cases, as I also sleep hot. This combination allowed me to sleep perfectly. While they were not exactly cool - they certainly did not retain and then reflect back my heat which is another important factor in my pillow. All around, spend the money. Give them a chance to de-gas, and expand - and I believe you will feel the same as I - WELL WORTH THE MONEY. If anything changes, I will come back and update this recommendation. ... show more

    • Extra firm pillows but great quality

I've always liked a firm pillow but this is an incredibly ultra firm pillow - I've taken 2 tufts of filling out of this thing, each enough to fill a gallon size freezer bag. I don't know what the rest of you guys are doing with the extra stuffing but I've decided to save it in case it flattens out in the future and needs a refresh. Anyway, 2 baggies of filling removed and it's still pretty firm - to the point that my neck is chronically extended and has become quite painful, along with my shoulders. I've never had neck or shoulder pain before using this pillow, and we switched to these after getting frustrated with the My Pillow (which goes flat after 3 months. Seriously, we've bought 4 of them and it's the same each time). I'm really hoping I just haven't found the right loft level though, so I will update this in a few weeks after some more experimentation. Pros: NO off-gassing at all, no odd chemical smell, perfect right out of the weird little tube it's delivered in. Also great for people that really do need an extra firm pillow, maybe that's just not my jam anymore. I could also see this as an excellent back support for anyone civilized enough to sit up while they read or watch TV in bed ... show more

The wife and I dropped a lot of money recently on a new king size mattress. It's like sleeping on a cloud - a hybrid between traditional and memory foam. I hate 100 percent memory foam because it doesn't allow for easy movement in bed. Same thing for pillows. A full memory foam pillow is way too firm and takes too long to expand when you move. They actually kill my neck in the morning. So, after checking out several lines of pillows (including the famous "My Pillow") on Amazon, we chose this brand and model for the combination of memory foam and filler, and the great reviews. The two king size pillows arrived yesterday and were wrapped up inside tubes. They weighed quite a bit compared to traditional pillows. After removing them, they expanded quickly. We chose to leave them out in the sun and fresh air for a few hours to get rid of the chemical smell, which was completely gone when we brought them in. We previously had been using plain, flattened out pillows that we picked up at Walmart. I have to tell you that we both slept wonderfully last night with these new pillows. I'm 6'2" and weigh 235 pounds. The pillow was perfect for me. Just the right height. My wife, who is very small, prefers hers to be high, so she didn't have to remove any filler. They are smooth, not lumpy like many people have complained about with the "My Pillow" brand. They kept cool too. Not much else to say, other than that I completely recommend this pillow if you want to sleep great! ... show more

Recently my daughters and she had these pillows in her guest room. I ordered them before I made it home. If you like a firm pillow so you can read a book when you're on your side or watch tv, this is the pillow for you. You can also remove some of the stuffing if you want it not as tall or firm. I hope they never quit making this pillow. I will be lost. I have moved all the pillows that were on my bed to the guest room. I feel bad for my guests, I just don't like waste so I will likely offer them to my next guests to take home. Hope my review helps somebody purchase the best pillow I've ever had. ... show more
