I bought this waterproof mattress pad for my elderly father-in-law who has advanced dementia. The old mattress cover was just falling apart and was not waterproof. This mattress pad is waterproof but doesn’t sound like a plastic sheet so it protects the mattress and allows him to sleep peacefully and not be woken up by a lot of crinkly sounds. It doesn’t cause overheating like I read some waterproof mattress pads might. We do put chucks down on the sheets so we don’t have to wash the mattress pad every time there is an accident, but it it does fit in our household washer and dryer and I’ve washed it a few times with no issues. I’m planning on buying one for my bed-we don’t need a waterproof pad but it’s a nice benefit-you never know when you’re going to spill a soda or the cat might act up. ... show more

Bought a new mattress and decided to also get a new mattress cover. Our fitted sheet wouldn’t stay on the mattress with our previous cover. This one fits my cal king well and so far my fitted sheet is staying put so no complaints on fit. It feels a little cheap and it sounds rough when you move around on it. Hard to explain but it’s obvious there’s a mattress protector on the bed. You get what you pay for though, this is an inexpensive cover. Probably best for a guest room situation. Protects our queen mattress beautifully. We've had it for several months now. If any fluid or spills, it comes out easily with washing by hand with soap and cold water. When it's time for a regular run in the washer, no problems. I've used low heat tumble to dry it and it holds up.

And not on the blankets—directly on the sheets. I couldn’t believe it. The good news is that the cover worked! I also had just put on a new mattress topper under it and was worried.
