Absolutely needed this specialty tool for upper ball joint removal on my 93' Dodge Dakota. Other brand were more expensive so I decided to cut costs a little as once these are replaced they should last awhile since the truck rarely gets driven. This isn't a tool that will last overtime. Anyone who is replacing these ball joints has said a few choice words due to them being seized in the upper control arm. It took quite a bit of brute force and even a torch to get mine out which started to mar and damage the metal of the socket. I don't suspect it could do anymore more than 6 sets of ball joints before the socket is stripped. If you need this tool and don't plan on using it frequently I would recommend. If you're a mechanic and are considering adding it to your toolbox I'd go with a better brand. ... show more

If you're doing any front suspension work on Mopar's, this is a great tool. Socket's are as well as the case, both well made.

I could not break loose the old ball joints with a breaker bar. I had to use heat and a 3/4" impact gun. The socket held up just fine.
