  • Better than the Costco offering.
Outstanding tool. Excellent torque. I got this to add to my drill and driver set that I purchased recently from Costco. If you look closely at the ratings on this tool, you will see that it has a stronger motor than its Costco counterpart. When you use both tools back to back, you can definitely tell the difference in torque. This drill is significantly more powerful. The battery that it comes with is 2 amp (black housing) versus the 2.5 amp (red housing) supplied by Costco. I regularly use both drills and have tried each of them with each battery. I've also used both batteries with the cordless vacuum cleaner supplied in the Costco kit. For everyday use both batteries are more than sufficient. I highly recommend this tool. ... show more

  • Best battery powered tool I own!
Tried my neighbors and knew I had to have one of these beauties for myself. I do a good bit of wood work, building fences, work benches, decking etc., and this great device runs 3.5” and 4” screws into new pressure treated lumber like nothing. A fully charged battery will hold charge seemingly all day! I love this thing! ... show more

  • I have become a fan of the brand.
I bought this drill because of its price and the fact that it included 2 batteries, but it has turned out to be an amazing drill, it has power, its easy to use, and the hammer operation it woks very well, 0 complaints from me.

  • Charger is Not as shown
The hammer drill and batteries are exactly what I wanted. The kit came with a tiny little charger. It's wall wart transformer NOT the 120 volt bench top charger shown in the picture. That charger is $41 if ordered separately. Customer service took care of me, just a heads up.

  • Long term review, great personal drill, not recommend for prolonged industrial use.
I purchased this drill in March of 2019. It is now almost halfway through January 2020. I bought it when I was working with an electrician, we were doing a job that requires a lot of concrete drilling. I got tired of using loaners when I decided to buy this. Shortly after I bought it I actually switched jobs and started working as a lineman for a broadband company, that's when I really started to torture this drill lol. It's been left in the rain a few times, it was submerged for 12hrs, dropped 40ft in the air on hard dirt, it's been stepped on, it's been thrown around, it's drilled through HUNDREDS of telephone poles. It can handle a good bit of abuse for a while. Unfortunately I just recently broke it. The drill still works but only in reverse. The handle is the weakest point. Over time you can feel it start to flex on high torque drilling, before too long it will flex out of place and break the switch to change direction. I recommend this to stay at your home, it will work as a backup doing just about anything you need it to, but its just not durable enough to do industrial work for prolonged use. For the money I paid for it, I'm extremely satisfied and would highly recommend if you're looking for a good quality personal drill. ****UPDATE**** I contacted porter cable and told them it had broke, no questions asked, they sent me a new one in the mail. Great customer service. ... show more

  • My favorite product line for battery shop hand tools
I have a lot of these Porter Cable 20V Max products and use them all the time. Specifically I have three of the drill drivers. They are a perfect fit for my light duty needs, charge quickly and fit my hand well. I'm 5'8", not a big guy, and the handles are a perfect fit in my hands. Batteries last a long time, in my home maintenance/wood shop use. Good thing about them, they provide full power until they die, no lingering death. They either provide full power, or they are expired and need to be charged. The rest of the tools in this product line share batteries and chargers and are also good, particularly the reciprocating saw. ... show more

  • Not worth it
Burned out in 1 yr of light use. I’ve Had kit for 5 years and still working. This hammer drill isn’t the same quality as my kit.
