  • Magic Cleaning Machine Worth Every Penny
Color: In Lotus White Style: Cat & Dog
I got my new Miele four hours ago. I just spent three and half of those hours vacuuming almost every surface in our house. This thing is magic. Background: Husband and I both work long hours, we've got two Maine Coons, and we're remodeling an old house. On top of that, I struggle with both ADD and depression, so I have two speeds - either EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE or constantly sleeping - and cleaning is not always a priority. Needless to say, between cat hair and sawdust, our house is pretty gross most of the time. When I bought our Dyson Animal five years ago, it was the most expensive thing I'd ever purchased. I did a ton of research and read all the reviews. Immediately out of the box, I hated it - it has a tendency to blow dust AWAY from the nozzle - but I figured I'd give it some time and maybe I'd come around. Lately it's had zero suction despite my best attempts at cleaning it, and when my sister said she loved her Miele, I figured I'd check it out. This was not an easy purchase. This thing costs more than my current vehicle. It is worth every penny. Where my Dyson was an apathetic beast at best, the Miele came out of the box fully assembled, licked its lips, and proceeded to devour debris in corners I didn't know this house had. My couch actually changed color. (Apparently it was covered in drywall dust.) The Miele sucked sawdust out from between the joints in the wood flooring. It ate half a rug before I figured out how to adjust the height on the power rotor, and once I had the setting corrected, sucked an OLD STAIN OUT OF THE RUG. I had no idea that was possible. Cat hair disappears into its predatory maw. The last time our floors were this clean, the contractors were putting swedish finish on them. The Miele is QUIET. Our apartment days are behind us, so noise isn't so much an issue, but holy hell is this nice. This vacuum powers up like something out of Star Trek, with a gradual quiet hum. Even on its highest setting, it is quieter than our microwave. I could hear my cell phone vibrate on the coffee table while I was vacuuming the living room. Husband came in and actually asked, "Is it on?" PROS: Everything. It's quiet. It's LIGHT. I think my laptop is heavier, but despite being easy to haul up the stairs, the Miele doesn't feel fragile; after years of growling every time the Dyson's telescoping handle collapsed in on itself, the Miele feels incredibly sturdy. It cleans like a dream - with two longhair cats, there were enough dust bunnies under the couch to knit a sweater, and the Miele didn't even blink, just slurped them down like nothing. It's incredibly agile - it follows you around like an attentive dog, ready for the next task. I love the onboard tools - no more scratching your head trying to remember where you last saw the crevice attachment. The adjustable suction is amazing - I was able to vacuum the heavy-duty door mat, and then turn around, adjust the suction, and vacuum the curtains without pulling them off the wall. The range of motion on the tools is also incredible - I was able to vacuum around the couch legs and under tables without having do do any painful contortions. The air in the house SMELLS cleaner, and even after three hours of vacuuming, my throat doesn't hurt like it usually does. When it comes time to empty the bag, I can just lift it out and throw it away - I won't have to deal with dumping a canister of aerosolized drywall and cat litter into the garbage can, blowing back in my face no matter which way the wind is blowing. (That alone is worth a thousand dollars, let me tell you.) CONS: Costs about as much as your firstborn, and possibly also your leg. Overall: This is literally the most expensive thing I have ever purchased after the house itself, and oh my god it's worth it. As a remodeler, I understand the value in having the right tool for the job, and this vacuum just earned its keep. Four hours in, and I regret nothing. This is going to make cleaning SO MUCH EASIER and you can't put a price on that. UPDATE 11/26/2019 It's been four years now and I still love this vacuum. It's been a study little workhorse. Sometimes I am terrible and too lazy to get the shopvac, so I feed construction debris to the Miele. Clogged nozzle aside, it doesn't even blink. The motor runs as quietly and efficiently as the day it arrived. It has a few scuffs and battle scars, but none of the plastic pieces are broken. I regularly change the bag and the filters, and purchased a new brush attachment because because the bristles had gotten too worn on the old one, but otherwise baby is always good to go. 100/10. ... show more

  • Excellent vacuum
Color: In Obsidian Black Style: Kona
Powerful, quiet, versatile. Probably will not use the large beater brush head a lot but it will get some use down in our rec room where we have an old nylon rug that could use a deep cleaning. Upstairs where we have mostly laminate and area rugs I don't use that attachment. I tried the parquet twister on the floors and that's fine but I have so many low pile area rugs that are difficult to vacuum with that attachment that I ended up ordering another attachment that has a retractable brush that I can use on all of my laminate and area rugs without issue. The extra attachment was overpriced I thought but it works pretty well and except for the fact that it's kind of flimsy, there isn't much to it and it comes off of the extension on the hose when I try to use it under something, it's fairly easy to vacuum with. Would I buy the Miele C3 Kona again? Yes, in a heartbeat. One other plus is that the vacuum itself is light enough I can easily transport it downstairs if I need to as well as bring it back up the stairs. I do still use my shark stick vacuum for quick clean ups in between my weekly deep cleaning with the Miele. By the way, the upholstery attachment is amazing. I don't think my furniture has ever been this clean! ... show more

  • Exceptional Vacuum Built To Last
Color: In Marine Blue Style: Marin
For decades Electrolux vacuum cleaners were my go-to for home vacuum cleaning. When Electrolux departed the vacuum cleaner business in 2017 the quality of remaining vacuum collection bags for their machines steadily decreased to the point of complete inadequacy. Since my October 1, 2021 purchase of this Miele Complete C3 Marin Canister Vacuum Cleaner not once have I experienced any problems. It is living up to its Consumer Reports #1 rating for Upright Canister Vacuum Cleaners for it is well built of solid components and user friendly. NOTE: I strongly urge YOU to discard the factory-installed collection bag. Chances are high it is dated. This means the bag's suction seal may not be as strong as store-purchased bags always are and have been for me since my purchase on Oct. 1, 2021. My household consists of four medium-size rescued dogs and three rescued cats. There are numerous area rugs on top of hardwood floors throughout my two-level home. This includes three large kitty litter boxes containing non-clay kitty litter which does end up outside of the boxes across the laundry room rug. I decided on this Miele vacuum cleaner because the Power Brush seems to have the most power of all Miele models. I am very happy with this machine and its six vacuum-power settings in addition to the five Power Brush settings depending on carpet pile height. This machine is quieter than my Electrolux UltraOne Series canister vacuum was and it is lighter in weight, too! My Miele Complete C3 Carin is very easy to maneuver around the room while vacuuming. The air filtration quality of the Miele GN model bags can't be beat. Never have I encountered a sneezing attack while vacuuming throughout my house nor have I ever picked up on foul pet hair odors while vacuuming because of these bags in addition to the filter on the machine. The electric cord length is more than adequate. I highly recommend you hold the cord and provide resistance while engaging the foot pedal to begin the self-coiling mechanism. This will help the electrical cord recoil with ease. Chances are high you will need to adjust the wand height when switching from the Power Brush to the Parquet (hardwood) Floor brush. It took a little while for me to get to know which buttons need to be pressed and/or released when adjusting the wand height and the brush nozzle, as well as when switching between cleaning heads (Power Brush vs Parquet Brush). While vacuuming if you tilt the wand all the way to an upright position the Power Brush will automatically turn off while the wand remains turned on and in the upright position. This "park" position is very convenient while moving furniture and the likes. In conclusion if you have pets I highly recommend the Mini Handheld Turbo brush. This small handheld brush is best used attached directly to the handle of the vacuum (excluding the wand) and makes for easy pet hair pick-up on furniture and what have you. It is more loud than the usual vacuum sound because of the turbo component so plan accordingly. Happy cleaning! I think you will be very happy with this purchase. ... show more
