I just got this vacuum and it is Amaze-balls. I have a 5 year old Bissel Pet Cleaner vac that I have maintained and used the day before to vacuum 2 rooms with. It did ok, or so I thought. I was so excited to use my brand new vac that I vacuumed the same 2 rooms I did the previous day, and THE AMOUNT OF DIRT AND HAIR that the new one picked up blew my mind. This thing has amazing suction, the tools are all easy to use, it came pretty much assembled and ready to roll right out of the box. It's not too heavy to carry up and down the stairs. The bin empties fairly easily (I still had to pull the hair out and take out the middle section, like with my old Bissel so I was used to it). But this thing works like gangbusters. I was late becoming a Bissell customer since I only purchased my first one about 7 years ago. I have originally purchased a VERY cheap but descent vacuum with fantastic reviews. It worked well for over 7 years, with the only con being it was VERY loud! It finally stopped working, and instead of replacing belts, or deep cleaning it, it was time for a NEWER upgrade. I had purchased a cordless about 6 years ago, along with the best shampoo, steam mop, I had ever owned. This turned me into a BISSELL customer for life! Incidentally, that cordless is STILL going strong at almost 7 years, and it’s my go to for ALL mess on the floor, the furniture, my bed, my furniture! So, I bought the updated version of the cordless, and it’s even BETTER! Leaving me with this purchase for vacuuming my carpets, wood floors and rugs. I research EVERYTHING! This vacuum is a STAND out at over 70k reviews and a 4.6 rating overall! I reviewed ALL the videos and these helped me decide on this FANTASTIC purchase! I unpacked carefully without instructions in about 5 minutes without issue. It has EVERY tool for attachments and all but the corner attachment stay on board. The electric cord is plenty long to meet all the needs of my 2 BR apartment without having to replug elsewhere. GREAT time saving feature! The suction is VERY powerful! I accidentally underestimated its power and reach, and it grabbed some crochet attached to a ball of yarn……….oops! My mistake! I will NOT underestimate this baby again! I am a kinda clean freak, and believed my floors were very clean!! 😮. By the time I had finished my master bedroom, the bagless container was COMPLETELY full of my Gabriel’s (11 pound Pugzu) hair and more dust than is believable! It has 2 HEPA filters included, and for people with allergies, this vacuum gets an A++. It went straight from my high pile carpet to my wood floors, without a hitch or changing the settings! I completed by doing a deep clean on my living room furniture, to see how much I could get out after emptying the container into the trash with one click of a button! Once again, the bag was half full of doggie hair and dust! So, I am giving this Bissell a 5 star review, which is rare for this clean freak! I have a Siberian Husky/Great Pyrenees and a Lab/Belgian Malinois so my home is covered in dog hair. I have a rumba that goes around once a day that's hanging on by a thread and Christmas Eve my vacuum finally surcumed to the dog hair. I bought this vacuum and not only did it pick up all the dog hair it also sucked all the dirt and sand out of the carpet. The suction is unbelievable and it is super lightweight. I had my reservations, but I really like it 4.5 stars worth. It's not the strongest one out there, but it does a nice job of cleaning up all the c r a p (dirt, hair, food, bird feathers, etc.) that ends up on our floors, whether it's the living room carpet, the dining room rug, or the kitchen hard floors, it takes care of it lickitty split. Thought the swivel was a gimmick, but it does make it easier to drive around. The pix show what it picks up, and it emptied with the simple push of the button. Had a Hoover which had more suction, no swivel, and considerably heavier, plus a poor handle design (it broke). Also had an LG, heavier than the Hoover. This Bissell is easier to use and maneuver on floors & stairs, does a pretty good job, and cost considerably less. Go ahead and get one, it works! ... show more

Vacuum works amazingly. I have 3 dogs so I’m vacuuming at least every other day. My old vac made the rugs and carpet look clean but this one actually cleans them for real. Don’t even have to dust as much now either cuz the vacuum is getting most of the dirt out of everything. If you have dogs/cats it’s a must have. Especially for the price. ... show more

I've had this vacuum for a couple months and am very pleased with it. Before buying this Bissell, I bought a more expensive Shark vacuum but ended up returning it for a number of reasons. The Shark vacuum had a molded plastic U-shaped tube at the end of the vacuum hose which made using it with accessories difficult in tight spaces and the trapezoidal shaped dust bin was hard to clean out. The Bissell 2252 seems to be much more practically engineered. There is no U-shaped tube so cleaning with the brush or wand accessories is much easier. The dust bin is a straight cylinder with a totally removable vacuum tube in the middle, so it is very easy to empty and clean. If you have pets, this vac does an excellent job of picking pet hair off the floor. You will be amazed at the amount of hair this picks up. One of the hardest things to clean is upholstery fabric that has pet hair embedded in it. I used this with the hand-held "turbo-eraser" to clean a camping mattress that had picked up a lot of hair from my dogs and, although not everything came up in the first pass, it did do a very good job of removing dog hair. All-in-all, if you have pets, this is a very good vac for keeping your house rid of pet hair and at a price considerably less than some of its competitors. ... show more
