It's a smaller sized vacuum (I'm assuming more compact sized), but it doesn't disappoint whatsoever. I have two large sized dogs who shed like crazy. One of them being a black lab so all of the clumps of fur she makes is definitely noticeable. I also have two 5 year olds who are still learning how to clean after themselves. This vacuum cleaned ALL of the mess with ease; crumbs, dog food, fur, dust, mud, you name it. You can feel and breathe the difference. We have 3 dogs and although we vacuum regularly, we vacuumed again on the day we received this and were shocked at how much hair, dirt and dust was pulled from our area rugs! Easy to clean. My vacuum died without notice and the dog hair was already out of control, did some research & decided to try this one even it was so inexpensive compared to my previous two, came really fast- arrived on Sunday & my husband put it to use and Big Wow!!! The amount of hair it picked up was incredulous coming from this small, trauma/rescue dog (can’t brush or comb him or get a collar on him or get to his nails, all a work in progress). I tried it out today & I’m happy I can even push it - I have fibromyalgia & other compromising issues, I like the swivel action, retractable cord & ease of use. Personal info- my old vacuum broke. They usually last about two years tops in my household. I have 3 dogs (a long haired collie + 2 other excessive shedders) and two children (under 3), plus a husband. All women know thats like another kid. Also, vacuuming sucks. One of my least favorite chores-but who has a favorite right? I vacuum every other day if not every day. I don’t normally go for the expensive machines because of how quickly we go through them. This time though, I had my eyes on a high functioning, high powered, expensive quality machine for a weeks. I was hoping for something that would last longer!! While going through all the pros and cons on multiple vacuums and brands, I decided to buy this one until I could find a “really nice one” that I liked enough to pay $300+ on. Save yourself from hours of comparing and buy this one. Like I said, this was my temporary replacement. I ended my research and comparing after I received this in the mail (took 3 days). Best vacuum I’ve ever had. I’ve had at least 5 different machines since becoming a homeowner. All of them have been pretty generic with no features other than function. This vacuum is awesome-especially for the price. I love the automatic rewind, the swivel, the easy removal of the brushes for easy cleaning, the easy dump dirt container, the easy clean/replace filter, the brushes on the side that grab the loose hair near the floor boards, and most importantly the suction. I couldn’t believe how much I picked up with just one rotation in my house! (I used to go over high traffic rooms 2-3 times). BUY IT. I can have a baby on my hip and get the vacuum out, use it, and put it away with ease. Seriously, EASE. Even my husband likes vacuuming but don’t get your hopes up ladies. I can’t promise that for you. If only BISSELL could add the husband feature in the future! It even has a nice suction indicator- I haven’t seen it change from green (good suction) which I assume is a good thing! I will hopefully be able to see it change if the motor isn’t functioning or if something is stuck. I’ve had this machine for 4 months and today it works like it did when I took it out of the box. I’ve cleaned my brushes once and I empty the dirt container after every use. I haven’t had to mess with the filter but it looks like I’ll just have to rinse it. The swivel took some getting used to but I’ve never had a swivel turn vacuum before so that just might be me. I love it now but that’s why I docked a star. Some reviewers mentioned they had trouble maneuvering corners and such but again, it just took some getting used to. I definitely recommend for parents and dog owners as this picks up everything from spilled Cheerios and food crumbs, dog hair, and dirt I thought my old machine should have gotten. I hope this review saves a few buyers from wasting time comparing brands and machines! I feel like I saved a hundred+ dollars by purchasing this. Again, I’ve never had anything more than a $200 machine but I’ll purchase this one again when I have to. It still works great and I expect it to last twice as long as any vacuum I’ve had in the past. This vacuum is the best ! The suction is just phenomenal. I have a lab mix/blue heeler and she sheds like crazy. I have struggled to find a vacuum to pick up all the hair on my fabric couch. This bissell did magic. I didn’t even realize my couch was this bad. It picked up so much more dog hair and dirt that another vacuum couldn’t do. The size of the vacuum is great. Easy to move around. It is an old school vacuum with the cord not the thin cordless ones they are selling these days but it works 100% more better. If your like me and check a lot of reviews before buying anything don’t look any further, you have a found a great vacuum cleaner here and the price is reasonable. I have owned a shark for a couple years, and it’s been ok, but less than 3 years, and I only have a small area to vacuum the shark has lost suction and the roller just doesn’t do the job. I checked tons of reviews online and everything I kept seeing showed this model as one of the better. So I got it, and let me tell you what, I just went over my carpet which by the way I had already cleaned with the shark, this new one literally pulled dirt out of the carpet I never knew was there, it’s wider and has a serious suction on the floor, I highly recommend this model 2252 ... show more

Buy this! I have owned Dysons (Animal and the Ball) and most recently invested in a Shark. This vac beats both in suction and ease of use (swivel handle is awesome!) it’s also very lightweight, which is mind-boggling for how well it sucks up. You don’t have to spend $500+ for a great vac. I’m picking up a second one to keep upstairs. If I *had* to pick on this vac, it’s a bit bulky so I can’t slide it under my bed as far as the others. It also has a much broader floor vac head, which I love, but it means it doesn’t go in between all of the areas my smaller vac did. It just means I have to use the hose attachment a little more often. But overall, I love it. ... show more
