I need to start this off by saying I paid full price for my vacuum. This is not a paid review. This is my complete unbiased opinion on some thing I paid full price for. I was trying to choose between this vacuum and the Bissell pet pro, I believe. I had googled the top 10 best vacuums, this one was number one and the Bissell was number two. When I asked, my friend, they said to go with the Bissell, because that’s the brand that they knew. The Bissell was also around $100 less than the shark. Regardless, I had other intentions. My shark arrived within two days. No damages to the package. It was double boxed. Opening the box, assembly was very simple to understand and easy enough anyone could handle it. I had no problem putting this vacuum together in less than five minutes. All the pieces were there. It literally just snapped together. Did I read the instructions on the manual on? What does what? Absolutely not. When I first started the vacuum, I was unknowingly using it on the bare floor setting on carpet. It still picked up everything. I was a little shocked about how quiet it was, and how heavy it felt trying to move it. I realized that the brushes weren’t turned on, and I have to click the button all the way down… 😅 Keep in mind, I swept my carpet with a broom first. I swept up into a dust pan the bigger pieces like cat food and treats. I have three cats, by the way. The vacuum is significantly lighter when you have the brushes activated(obviously). I did one pass on the living room floor and shockingly to my surprise I filled up the entire container. The hair was separated from the dust. And there’s a light on the right side of the base of the vacuum that will turn from green to red if you have an obstruction. For me, the light did not turn red. I just wanted to make that known just in case somebody else chooses to not read the instructions as I did. When I tell you, I’ve never had a vacuum pick up every piece of debris hair cat food whatever you name it this vacuum picked it up in one pass. No exaggeration. Things I was concerned about: 1. The body of the vacuum is very bulky and wide. My concern with this was that I wouldn’t be able to reach close spots into corners and under furniture. The base of the vacuum swivels from the body, so this was not a problem at all. 2. Also, regarding the body, it is very front, heavy and not rear heavy. so it is awkwardly unbalanced and can tip over if you bump in to it. that’s really the only complaint that I have about it and it’s not enough that I would take a star away from this review because of the quality of the vacuum, the functions in the gadgets, and all the bells and whistles. This vacuum has it all and I love it. 3. My only other concern was that hair could get trapped in the brush and caused me issues with trying to finish, vacuuming my floor in sitting. This was also not an issue. This vacuum works like a dream and never in my life. Would I ever think that I would be so excited and giddy over a machine that I use to do chores. One improvement that COULD be made, but isn’t a game changer; make the cord retract with a button instead of having to wrap it up by hand. Is that lazy of me to say? LOL YES. I don’t care 🤣 that’s the only thing my bissel did that this Shark does not do. So all in all, I truly give this vacuum five stars. I show this vacuum off to my friends. I let my friends take it for a test drive. I am obsessed with it. It has changed the way I feel about having to vacuum. If you are concerned about the price, maybe you want it but you still don’t know if it’s worth it? Can you potentially afford it? If you can, I’m telling you right now to do it. Buy the vacuum. You will not regret it. This is probably one of the best home maintenance products that I’ve ever purchased. If anything goes wrong, of course, I will update my review, but I highly doubt it. This vacuum is nothing less than impressive. it was worth it for me. I have attached photos of what the unit looks like after vacuuming my floor… it’s gross. It picked up years of dirt that had found its forever home at the very bottom of the carpet. 🥴 I’ll never have to deal with that again. ... show more

I have two dogs, one medium hair length cat and a long-haired kid. The dogs are a German Shepherd Dog (called German Shedders for a reason) and a Malamute/St. Bernard/Something cross that sheds like he's blowing out his coat 24/7/365. I had what a thought was a good vacuum, but the Shepherd's shed guard hairs were not getting picked up where they had woven into the carpet from her rolling. This vacuum is amazing! It has pulled out hair she shed last year. It picked up hair she shed last month. It has picked up hair she hasn't even shed yet! It picks up dirt that will be in your carpet next week! It picks up dust that is still thinking about falling!!! It is incredible! I went over my carpets THREE times before the cup was empty at the end! And I had vacuumed well (I thought) just a few days ago! And let's chat about that cup! It's large capacity, which is needed with my "clean" carpet AND it OPENS FROM BOTH ENDS IN CASE SOMETHING, LIKE LOTS OF DOG HAIR, GETS STUCK!!!! My only wish is that it had a headlight, but I can live without that for the power and cleaning this machine is doing. Oh, and it doesn't require you to be a bodybuilder to lift it or maneuver it. It rolls beautifully and is lightweight. I haven't used the tools yet, or run it on my stairs, but I'm confident that I will be thrilled with it's performance. For the price, I will live with the inconveniences. I was so tired of buying expensive dysons and having them stop working after a year. Pros: super easy to maneuver, easy to empty, good suction, narrow enough to fit in some tight spaces. I was sick of cordless vacuums dying in the middle of cleaning and needing to be charged so I went with this one, which leads me to… Cons: the cord is always getting in my way! This hands-down is the biggest drawback to the vacuum, in my opinion. The cord connects to the vacuum on the bottom right, and so it is constantly underfoot and crosses under the vacuum, especially if it’s plugged in to the wall on the left which inevitably happens at some point when you’re working around a room. I’ve tried holding the cord up with my free hand so I don’t run over it which is both annoying and doesn’t always help. The other con is the carpet setting. The suction is so strong it is nearly impossible to push it over about half of my carpets. Then it works great with my other carpets but I haven’t figured out the difference yet. It may be that it gets stuck on some plusher carpets (but it’s not super obvious). ... show more

Seriously what a babe. So easy to work with, light, glides with ease. The lift away feature is life changing. The cord is a good length and the vacuum is easy to assemble and empty. It works great on my hard wood floors, I’m able to easily use it to get the ceiling trim. The suction is powerful but doesn’t scratch the floor. I never thought I’d find a vacuum that’d clean my long-haired carpet, not just the top surface. This one has such a powerful suction & really gets into the deeper layers fast. I love how I can quickly vacuum each room & into the hallway without having to unplug & replug the cord because it’s long enough to finish each one. And I love that it’s so light, it doesn’t feel like a burden to drag out when it’s time to vacuum. Note: When I say the suction is powerful, I mean you can’t vacuum a rug unless something weighs down the edges, or someone holds it down, while you vacuum. It sucks the rug up. It’s strong enough that you’ll see where your carpet is lifting from the glue, if it doesn’t lift it itself. ... show more
