We are happy with this option. It’s big enough to allow a medium-sized fire that will provide a bit of warmth in the middle of a circle, but small enough that you can still cook a hot dog or heat up a small pan with a modest amount of fuel wood. Of note, if you are cooking with a pan, you’ll want slower-burning fuel, like charcoal, because the airflow-efficient design will make normal dry wood burn up before your food is done, and you’ll be constantly removing the pan (and cook surface) to add fuel to maintain temperature. ... show more

When I got this and assembled it I found it was very small. I like the simple design and the precision cut steel but it has very sharp edges that should have been smoothed down in the manufacturing process. Anyhow I finally got a chance to use it and it did a great job. I'll keep this on a motorcycle for emergency use and it'll work fine I'm sure. ... show more

I camp out a lot, so I'm always interested in different types of camping gear, and this is certainly different! As a blacksmith, I am aware of, and have made many different types of fire tools,but this is made of sheet metal rather than bar stock. I was pleased to see how heavy the sheet metal is. I'd guesstimate about 10 or 11 gauge, which means that the firepit should have a long active life. Nicely constructed, edges could use a bit more grinding to prevent injuries, but over all, a good value. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This little fire pit is not only portable but it's just a wonderful little fire pit for a family of 5! My kids just love this thing we've never owned a fire pit before and at first I thought this thing is just too small for any good use and I was WRONG! It burns nice and hot with good quality maple I have and the heat it produces is just perfect because my residential laws permit only a 3x3x3ft fire pit. The metal is corten steel and I had to look up the metallurgical properties and indeed this thing will patina over time with many uses. I light it with some vaseline cotton balls and it's so hassle free. The smoke is still there (depending on the wood source too) but no big deal. Cleanup is easy you break it down into three pieces after it cools and you're done. Instant camp fire in your own backyard without digging a pit. I'm a city slicker and this thing just makes me and my family smile when we light it up in the evening. Love it! ... show more

I'm pretty bad with measurements, but this was a little smaller than I had imagined it to. Which is fine because it's easier to put assemble and easier to store away. It doesn't take up too much space. Can't wait to use this for camping. It's perfect for making s'mores. It's great using it in our backyard. I didn't take pictures of that and I should have, but just pictures of it out of the box before use. Assembling it took a few mins, but overall easy to do.
