I bought three of these when Amazon increased the cost of its in house branded product by 30%. The Amazon product is also excellent but not THAT excellent. I now have three of the Amz units and three of these. All of this unit's functionality is identical to the Amz brand and a new eco setting is included. Note "eco" is a bit of BS in the sense that it is just another heat setting but on this unit you get three settings vs two so it is an added feature worth noting. An important element of this heater is that it appears to be properly engineered (as does the Amz unit) the wire sizing and plug interface do not significantly heat up as some units have done. I recently threw out two perfectly operating heaters (purchased on Amz BTW) where the power wire and plug got extremely hot. I was surprised they were even for sale on the site after experiencing this obvious safety flaw. These new units remain cool (worst case a little warm) as does the electrical cable and plug. Very good! The unit size is excellent. It is about 25% smaller than the Amz heater but seems to put out about the same heat. Certainly the power draw is equivalent and, from what I can tell, the heating elements are performing about the same, so all good. Another item of note is the large plate used for the tip over interlock. The old heaters had a smallish button. this one has a plate the size of a quarter. This allows the unit to operate on a throw rug or carpet, same with Amz heater. Obviously you need to monitor the heater when it is operating on a carpet but the interlock will still protect from tip over. So if the Amz branded product is a bit pricey for you, this seems like an excellent alternative. ... show more

Heat output for our small travel trailer was better than expected. It brought the room to temperature (40F to 68F) in about 15 min! The thermostat appears to hold temp within +/- 3 degrees, ok by me and runs very quite! Unfortunately, it seems to require you to reset the thermostat control each time you use it, not a big deal, but you have to wait until room temperature is reached before you can back down control until it stops, but then it's set for the night.     • Good heater for very small spaces
I bought this heater to augment my central heating and to use on days when it's not quite cold enough to need to heat the whole house. If you're standing right in front of it and have it cranked up to the max, it seems to put out a lot of heat, but the heat is quickly lost in a room of any size. It might work well to heat a space under a desk or in a very small enclosed room, but don't expect it to be of much help in a normal-sized room unless you're standing or sitting right in front of it. I think of it more as a personal heater than a room heater. It would certainly be useful if your central heat goes out until you can get somebody to repair it, as it's lightweight and easy to carry around from room to room as needed. ... show more
