The media could not be loaded. Bought this when our Central air went out. Great strong and quiet unit with anazing air flow. Cooled down the back of the house quickly ( cac800sq feet). Easy to set up, the hosecand the window kit worked and fit nicely. It is a heavy unit, but the cadters making it acbreeze to move! Cleaning is very easy, 2 screens are quickly accessible. I've owned similar units in the past and can say this is among the better ones for my personal requirements, which are a solid/simple design, great cooling, and minimal noise. I will say this, first and foremost, as a cautionary tale lol ... if, like myself, you have no recourse for exhausting via the typical means (horz/vert window/doors/etc.) ... and have to CUT through a bedroom/office wall? And /especially/ a wall that has 1940 era brick? Mang ... prepare yeself for the fight, as they say. I mean, it was a fun project, and I'm a project guy, but dude(ettes), this was tough. Mostly because I'd never had to create a clean, 6" pass-thru hole in really badass brick material—so funny! At a point, I realized it would take a full day (and I think I even continued into the night with a headlamp, lol). Anyway. I learned a lot, but I will hire somebody next time to create more ducts throughout the house (rolling the thing around is quite handy). As far as 10,000 BTU portable A/C units go, this product strikes an ideal middle ground when considering the above simple, critical personal needs. A 10,000 unit was my obvious first choice simply due to experience teaching me that, generally, the larger the unit is, the less power is used over time; the unit is quieter for the same reasons it can be employed more efficiently than a smaller BTU unit ... and primarily, that's just cause it's a larger structure, has a larger output vehicle (power) and hence, can run at it's lowest setting and easily blow away the smaller units cause the 10,000BTU unit doesn't I have to work to cool my 150x150 foot office (full of servers). So with that run on, I highly recommend the unit. The only caveat I would mention is that if you have burglar bars on the outside of your windows that are not easily adjusted/removed (ours are from around 1950), then you'll need to measure the exhaust hose to ensure it will pass through the bars to reach the window adapter. It's not a big deal and certainly something one could personally modify to work even if the hose was a tad too thick (slight dremel of bar area hose pass through, etc.), but some folk might not have the tools or stamina to deal with that, so I thought I'd mention it. Otherwise, I give the unit high marks with a short usage window. Time will tell... I do know I don't care to cut a 6" hole through a Roosevelt-era brick ever again. That's for certain.     • Super simple setup and very effective unit
This unit works really well and creates cool air immediately upon turning on. It doesn't take up much floor space and has rollers pre-installed so it is easy to move around (within the limits of it being attached to the heat exhaust hose though). It has the necessary functions of a swiveling vent (up and down), timer, temperature control, control lock (child lock?), and even a mode specifically for dehumidifying. I opted to set this up to continuously drain and it filled up a 4 gallon bucket in about 8 hours. It has a mode where it will automatically shut off if the internal water tank fills up (at which point you will need to drain it, but this is easy assuming you're close to something to drain into). It is about as loud as other comparable units I've used, so I think it is something you can get used to. A small trade off for the cool air! ... show more

UPDATE: AC stopped working at 33 days, being used only at night and a couple hours each day for our kids nap time. It was just a few days past my return window, but they honored an exchange, in case of a faulty machine, which is why I'm leaving 4 stars. I'll update my review again if the replacement dies after a month as well, or if it makes it past that time frame. Would recommend purchasing! Super fast and easy set up, started cooling immediately, not very loud (but I also like a lot of fan noise to sleep, so I don't find this loud at all) pretty compact, doesn't take up much room. ... show more
